iPhone 4S rumors/discussion/bashing

Forstall is now introducing a new app called "Cards," which lets you send snail mail cards featuring photos from your iPhone/iPad. Apple mails them for you -- and sends you a push notification on your iPhone when it arrives.
A card mailed in the U.S. costs $2.99 -- and $4.99 to elsewhere in the world.

    Interesting.

What did you expect? That's how every event that any company puts on starts.

That's true, but they're rehashing stuff that people already know. That cards thing looks ridiculously pointless.

“Every single quarter for 5 years the Mac has outgrown the PC market"

MacBook Pro and iMac are #1 selling notebook and desktop in the US.
Thats not good news for all the macs users who think they're invulnerable to viruses.

Unless you're someone who likes to send cards. Then it would not be pointless.

    Notifications/location based reminders
    iMessage

    Updated Photo app
    Safari getting updated
    Mail getting updated

Pretty much stuff we all knew so far...

That's because 75% of their base is retarded and doesn't understand the technology they bought in the first place. It just looked cool.

People who send cards are typically soccer moms and old people, neither of which are tech savvy enough to figure out how to do it on an iPhone.

I anticipated them charging a menial fee for iOS5, something along the tune of $4.99.

    Surprised it's free.

Yeah, I think so. But I think only if you wanted to update an ipod touch.

    Never for iPhone users.

iPod Touch users usually have to pay.

They did in the past for iPod Touches. If you knew what you were doing, you could download the ipsw file from Apple and flash it via iTunes for free.
