I have never done it, but it really wouldn't bother me.bigdaddy2003;1614450 wrote:I prefer to go alone personally. -
Laley23I like to go with friends, but that's cause we usually get beers and some food before or after (pending the movie time).
Ive gone alone plenty though, nothing is different during the movie lol -
thavoiceI have been to the movie by myself twice I think. Both were to see Lone Survivor after I had initially saw it. ONce was on Martin Luther King day when I got off work early and drove by and noticed they had movies during that day and another time a few weeks later the last week it was showing.
Didnt mind it. -
bigdaddy2003I have friends that talk a lot during movies so it is nicer to go alone but my girlfriend is silent so she is good to go with.
Neighbors had some pretty funny parts. -
Trueblue23Just watched Neighbors.. eh, not too bad I guess. Not great by any means.

Yes, I thought it was just ok overall. I felt like they tried too hard at times.Trueblue23;1615125 wrote:Just watched Neighbors.. eh, not too bad I guess. Not great by any means. -
friendfromlowrySaw Neighbors last night. If you liked Rogen's other movies, you'd like this one. Not the funniest, but still worth a view. Waiting for Godzilla next weekend now.

Agree. Most of the funny shit was in the commercials.Trueblue23;1615125 wrote:Just watched Neighbors.. eh, not too bad I guess. Not great by any means.
Looking forward to the new Macfarlane movie though -

I just can't into that dude, looks like Peter Brady lol. I thought Ted had some funny parts, but I can't stand to watch Family Guy or the other cartoon he has.bases_loaded;1615188 wrote:Agree. Most of the funny shit was in the commercials.

Classyposter58Hate going to movies with girlfriend

Manhattan Buckeye
I've done it on several times, almost always involving sci-fi flicks prior to marriage because my ex-girlfriends/dates hated sci-fi, and in some other cases when friends got caught up at work and couldn't make it. Hell, I saw Star Wars II by myself because the girl I was dating refused to watch a Star Wars movie. Really don't see what the big deal is, how is it much different than watching iTunes movies by yourself at home?Laley23;1614582 wrote:I like to go with friends, but that's cause we usually get beers and some food before or after (pending the movie time).

Because you're in public and seem like a weirdoManhattan Buckeye;1615371 wrote:I've done it on several times, almost always involving sci-fi flicks prior to marriage because my ex-girlfriends/dates hated sci-fi, and in some other cases when friends got caught up at work and couldn't make it. Manhattan BuckeyeThere's nothing weird about it. What do you think of people that travel for work and eat out at restaurants by themselves? Are they weird? Are they supposed to stay in their hotels and order room service because they are afraid of what douchebags might think of them? Should they get escorts?
Negative reps. -
bigdaddy2003The good thing is I don't care who thinks I'm a weirdo. Lol

Midstate01Saw "The Hornets Nest" on marine core base hawaii tonight. It is a documentary from the front lines. Pretty good. You don't see anyone who is killed or really wounded, but you know when it has happened. Think they said it's in theaters next week. If you enjoy war movies or documentaries then you will enjoy it.

Thanks for the info. Saw the trailer last week I think. Does not look like it will be a wide release though so may have to drive to go see this oeMidstate01;1615617 wrote:Saw "The Hornets Nest" on marine core base hawaii tonight. Reps for Manhattan Buckeye and bigdaddy. Who the f*** cares if other people think someone is "weird" because they're seeing a grown movie by themselves? There's nothing weird about seeing a movie by yourself. It's no different than if you were to go see a movie with 10 other people. Everyone is sitting in there watching/enjoying the movie. People aren't necessarily 'talking' to each other.bigdaddy2003;1615459 wrote:The good thing is I don't care who thinks I'm a weirdo. Lol -
bigdaddy2003I'm pumped for Godzilla.
Also, I see where Channing Tatum has been cast to play Gambit in upcoming X-Men movies. Not sure about this one. -
Scarlet_BuckeyeSaw 'Neighbors' and 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' last night. Neighbors was alright. Would have been better if all the 'best parts' weren't shown during the commercials/previews/trailers. Seth Rogen is funny (would like to see him play a different role, however, than the always 'burnout' role that he does)... Rose Byrne was a sexy minx... the baby (Stella) - the two twin babies that they used for the role - were adorable. I know it's filming and I'm sure they had to take several takes, but some of those reactions/scenes/facial-expressions/gestures/etc. were hilarious/adorable. Wonder if it could lead to other opportunities for those twins (Elise & Zoey Vargas) - doubt it tho.
Zac Efron and Dave Franco were solid. Franco, I feel like, always has the same expression. I'm not sure that kid knows what 'acting' is... but hey... more power to him.
McLuvin (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) was in the film... but I feel like his role was trivial. They could have casted just about anyone for that role and they movie would have been the exact same. Again... more power to him tho.
The Grand Budapest Hotel. You know... you gotta give props to Wes Anderson. The dude just knows how to shoot a scene/capture a beautiful image/build a set. all his 'angles' , 'shots' , 'transitions', etc. are unrivaled. I just wish his writing (writers?) for his films were better. The dialogue is just too wordy (for my liking). 'Moonrise Kingdom', 'The Life Aquatic with Steve zissou', ... they all have beautiful imagery/shots/and scenes... but i just feel like the stories could be better.
Anyway...
Neighbors = 7/10, maybe 6.5/10 (?)
The Grand Budapest Hotel = 6/10, maybe 6.5/10 (?) [the jokes/laughter could have been better, imo] -
ohiobucks1I thought A Million Ways to Die in the West was good. Nothing special, but good. I laughed a decent amount. 7.5/10. Asked a lot of people walking out what they thought and got mostly 7s. A few 5s, and one person who was still laughing on his way out who said it was a 10 lol.
Anyways there are a lot of funny cameos, and the story (while simple) has a lot of funny references. A typical Seth McFarland flick. -
bigdaddy2003^ I think it looks funnier than Ted from the trailers.
