I think its more stupid that Fox/Disney (i think it's disney) can't come together and split the potential profits from an Avengers v. Xmen movie. IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN. I don't care that there are 2 quicksilvers since he was one of my favorites, and they have no plans of mixing the universes anytime soon.

That was Apocalypse. It was just a 'young' version of him. He had the pale-ish, purple face.

Unless you mean... you wanted to see Apocalypse in his grown/mature suite and all.
Yes, I wanted to see the older version. Either way I am pumped.

I'm assuming I will like The Avengers' Quicksilver more.

Scarlet, are you familiar with Guardians of the Galaxy?

I blame Marvel (which is now ultimately Disney). Why Marvel decided to sell off part of their franchise to different studios is BEYOND me. They should consolidate the different franchises under ONE studio (so they could do like a Avengers/X-Men/Spider-Man mix). Disney PURCHASED Marvel, so logically it would make sense for Disney to own those rights. I'm not familiar with the terms (years) of the contracts, so I'm not sure how much longer we (the consumer/customer) will have to suffer.

From what I've read, the next X-Men movie (X-Men: Apocalypse set for 2016) will focus on the grown/mature Apocalypse, and we won't have to worry too much about the 'younger' version that we saw. Regardless... it sounds like things are setting up quite nice for Marvel (Thanos... Apocalypse...), and hopefully we'll all be in for a few good movies.

Honestly, I wasn't familiar with the Guardians until the recent trailers for the movie (and by recent, I mean the originals that came out a year or so ago). Since then, I've been reading up on them as much as possible. I'm quite excited for the film and have VERY high hopes.

I know that the group consists of Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon (hilarious!), Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, and Groot (literally only says his name - Groot). Not sure if you knew or not, but the group ALSO consists of Quasar and Adam Warlock. Warlock is actually a VERY renowned superhero, so I'm not sure why they would choose not to include him (Idk... maybe he WILL be in the movie).

    Regardless...

I think the Guardians are a very interesting group of misfits. I think they all have pretty cool back-stories, and I think their "adventures" are quite interesting. Hopefully it should all translate over to the big-screen very well.

I remember reading that as long Sony/Fox keep making movies every few years they keep the rights. Which is the reason we got another Spiderman reboot.

Gawd. If that's true, whoever wrote that contract on Marvel's behalf needs to be tar'd & feather'd.

I'm not sure what happened to the review thread, so I'll use this one:

The Croods: 8/10, much better than I thought it would be and it was funny to hear Nick Cage as a voice actor
Jack Ryan: 3/10, seemed like a direct to video movie
Reboot of Robocop: 4/10, not really worth the reboot

Yeah, Marvel wasn't really in a position of power because when they sold the rights they were going bankrupt

anybody check out godzilla? its either that or xmen tonight
  • Manhattan Buckeye
All of my friends say X-Men. I'd like to catch it in the next couple of weeks.

Saw X-Men saturday, I really enjoyed it. Thought it was better than the other ones. Hope Hugh Jackman doesn't leave. Quicksilver was really cool. Wished they used him more.

X-Men > Godzilla (not that that's saying much about X-Men tho)

reading the comments here about xmen was already more entertaining than the spiderman movie. I love xmen. but also when i was a kid i was a huge godzilla junkie

Godzilla was good but I say X Men.

Saw Neighbors today. It was average. I feel they tried too hard to be funny.

Mantooth and I saw Chef last night and we both agreed it was our favorite movie of the year so far. I would easily give it 9/10. The story is funny, heartfelt and original, the performances were excellent. There were several laugh out loud moments, but it's definitely not your typical comedy. I can't wait to see it again.

Oh and the food scenes...drool. Do not go see this movie while hungry.

White House Down - 2/10. Everything about it was bad, bad, bad. Not even good bad.

Anyone see the Ant Man director quit? Haven't read a consistent reason cited for him QQing and quitting though.

The Grand Budapest Hotel. Not Wes Anderson's best but still good. 9/10

Maleficent. Was a good uncle and took my niece. Better than I thought but still not great. 6/10. Will admit Jolie was good.

I'm pretty shocked Maleficent killed at the box office.

Surprised my niece was one of a very few kids. Crowd was mostly older adults
