Beer snob discussion thread

At a local brewery in Scottsdale called Papago Brewing. I got a coconut coffee stout and my wife got an irish coffee milk stout. Both are fantastic.

Yup, Saturday no VIP and you heard correctly. Lines were waaaay too long. Luckily we got our tickets cheap thru a school organization.

The longest line I stood in all night was 2 people deep.

What was your favorite brew from the festival? Milk Stout Nitro was my favorite, but there was also a really good lambic and a coconut porter that I really liked.

...The unknown consisted of 3 Black Chocolate Stouts and to wake up to a Dragons Milk that I had poured. Now it's time for nite nite.

Picked up a case of Troegs Nugget Nectar today and drinking the first one now. Been waiting long for it to come out; one of my favorite beers.

I heard it was due out soon. Maybe I'll have The Wife look for it tomorrow when she's out and about.

Tsingtao tonight and it pretty much sucks just like the town I'm in Findlay.

Anyone on here like New Castle Brown Ale?
  • I Wear Pants
I do. That was actually the first homebrew we did. Well a version of it anyway.

    Really enjoy New Castle.

I myself do. Don't drink it too cold or you will miss other aspects of it. I do find it can be a little skunky at times. I'd blame that on the clear bottle.

I don't see it in my area very often so I was pleased to see it at the drive thru I stopped at tonight. They had another kind of New Castle but I couldn't understand what the woman said and she was being a bitch so I didn't want to ask her again.

    Laughed at the bitch comment.

But what area are you in that even New Castle is rare? I just want to know so I can avoid that god forsaken place.

Ha I'm about 30 minutes south of Lake Erie. The closest place you MAY have heard of is Norwalk.

That it is my good man. I make sure I drink at least a sixer when I make it to Colorado.

Another good brewery I found out here in AZ is Deschutes. They are from Oregon. Good IPA and porter.

Took down a 6 pack of Southern Tier 2x stout tonight. Solid brew. Unfortunately I'm not at the snob point where I can throw down $10 for one 24 oz beer yet, but I'm making progress.

I've been in a big milk stout phase for a couple of months. Relatively heavy ABV with a coffee/chocolately taste? I'm down.

Just start treating yourself for special occasions with the more expensive bombers. That's what I did. Now I tend to get one of those and a 6 pack instead of two six packs.

Picked up some Porterhouse brews yesterday. The Brainblasta was pretty good. Will probably try the others this evening.

Going through a sixer of White Rajah from the Brew Kettle for Stongsville Oh. Very nice IPA (West Coast style). I've had this at a Beer Fest once and heard others talk of it, but never broke down and bought it. Hoppy yet well balanced with not too much bitterness. At just under 7% this is a nice session IPA. I will beg drinking more of this in the future...and A LOT !!!

Left Hand Milk Stout and Conways Irish Ale tonight. Also picked up a pack of Dopplerock!

Plowing through the case of Nugget Nectar I just picked up; will be needing to buy more pretty soon.
