  Portland as well. Bro was telling me when he was in portland, he found a bar that was going to get a Pliny the Elder keg at about 4:00. The keg was gone completely at 4:15.

  Different beer recipes use different fermentables, grains, and hops. So a combination of those three things make it a red ale.

  You and me both brother. I can't stop singing their praises. I probably would have never tried this brewery due to the 'can stigma'. I read about them in All About Beer and was pleasantly surprised and usually buy some of their stuff every trip to the beer store.
  
  I finally had the GL Christmas Ale aaaannnd...By God it was down right decent !!! They had a huge display of it at Jungle Jim's and I guess I caught it at the right time as I've never seen it there since I started looking for it in 2005. I guess they were able to get more than before this year. Founders Breakfast Stout was very had to find years ago. I believe in 2005 or 2006 they only got a hold of 28 four packs, of which I got 3 of them, but in the past few years they've have been getting LOADS of it...Thank God !!!
  
  I also picked up the Bells Christmas Ale. I thought I'd do a side by side comparison with it and the GL...Well I found out after tasting the Bells that they don't put spices and such like others do in the Christmas Ales. It wasn't bad, but more of a session beer.
  
  I cold only drink one or two of the GL's as Christmas Ales are too pumped up on spices for my taste. I might have to get some and set it back and pop them open next year. (Like I do with my Anchor Christmas Ale)
  
  I did also pick up the Stone 11-11-11, but haven't tried it yet. "Chili Beer"...with the cinnamon added this sounds like it might be a Cincinnati Chili Beer...well minus the chocolate.

  Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any 21st Amendment Fireside Chat today. However, I did buy some GLB Christmas Ale, Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale and Old Rasputin.

  Just tried an Ohio brew I picked up on my last trip up there - Hop Bomber Pale Ale from Rivertown Brewing Company in the Cincinnati. Has a very unpleasant metallic taste.
  
  I'll wash the taste out of my mouth with a Columbius Brewing IPA. Solid IPA, kind of reminds me of the Two Hearted Ale.

  Should of had one of there Hop Baron Double Down IPA as they are not too bad. (Imperial IPA) I usually only drink their upper end stuff.

  Rivertown's brewery is in Lockland by the Mill Creek. That's probably where the metallic flavor came from...kiddin'. I'm not sure where they actually brew, but I believe they are headquartered in Lockland, which is in Cincinnati. If you want to try a good Cincy brew I recommend Mt Carmel Nut Brown Ale. It's at #23 on BA's list of top American Brown Ales.

  Never had it, but from what I've read Columbus IPA is one of the best IPAs out there. Will have to head down there some time to try it.
  
  Had a couple new beers; last week I drank my bottle of Cantillon Classic Gueuze, and last night had Yuengling Traditional Lager for the first time. The Cantillion was one of the best beers I've ever had; so sour though I had to slow down while drinking it. The Yuengling was decent. Would never go out of my way to get it, but would choose it over Bud/Miller etc.

  Had two good ones last night both on tap at winking lizard. Founders Breakfast Stout - good as always, and Kentucky bourbon barrel ale - loved it.

  I have read and heard from the Brewers at GLBC that their Christmas Ale is not meant to be aged, that it should be drank sometime before the end of April.
  
  I would recommend trying Thirsty Dog 12 Days of Xmas. I prefer it over the GLBC.

  Honestly, I wouldn't bother. I tried those a few years back, and there was surprisingly little change in taste. Solid beer, but aging didn't seem to add much to it.
  
  Same can be said for 12 Dogs. I actually prefer it to Great Lakes, but it doesn't seem to develop many nuances either with age.

  Mmmm ... Old Rasputin and Avery's Czar are my go-to Imperial Stouts.

  If you get a chance, I cannot stress enough how good the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is when it has been aged for about a year.

  Fairlawn and nope, not on the tour. I usually go on Monday and/or Tuesday for wings. It helps that I can walk there too.
