I believe that's a 2007. Almost 4 years of age on it so it should be smooooth.

Nothing special tonight so far. Just having a Boston Lager to start off. I did put a Tiny, a Sierra Nevada 30th Anny, a Founders Nemesis, and a Stone 14th Anny in the fridge for possibly later.

Moving on to a Red Hook ESB

Nosferatu, Breckingridge Double IPA, and Thirsty Dog Imperial Stout tonight.
  • gerb131
Breckenridge is good. Sierra Nevada Torpedo
  • O-Trap
Was disappointed with Breckenridge's Vanilla Porter. Didn't have the earthy complexity I like in a porter, and felt like it leaned too heavily on the novelty of being unique.
  • I Wear Pants
I was going to get the vanilla porter but then I saw it was under 5% and I wanted nothing to do with it.

Had St Bernardus Abt 12 last night ... very very good.
  • I Wear Pants
Love the Abt 12, Pater 6 is also pretty good.

That is an awesome beer !!!

I did have a couple of Troeg's Mad Elf with dinner. Great beer and rings in at 11%ABV. I had 2 because I couldn't find anything that would stand up to it after the first one. BORIS would have I'm sure, but it was $23.00 a bottle.

Picked up some Rivertown Porter tonight to try. (Cincy Brewery)

For some reason I always pass on Mad Elf when it's out. I'll have to give it a try if you're recommending.

Damn, I realize people have different tastes but a 5.5? I know I'm not the end all when it comes to good beer, but I've had quite a few over the past few years and it's one of the best.

I was the 7, I was stunned at the other guys 5.5. I thought for sure he would be at 6.5 or higher and make it a top ten beer on our list thus far.

Picked up a sixer of Christmas Ale and Oktoberfest by GLBC tonight. Stash them away for later.
  • gerb131
    Anyone on Pintley?

Have you ever had a beer you thought was exceptional? Highest grade I've seen you give is a C so far or average.

We rate 1-10, 5 is average, 7 is very good, I don't think we have given out a 8 yet. We don't think like a grading scale A to F, more like variance from 5.

It is defiantly different. Love the cherry kick to it. It is one you can only have a couple of as it can be a somewhat over powering. I shared a bomber of it last night with The Wife...along with the Stone 15th Anny and a Stone Belgo Anise Imperial Russian Stout. The Belgo was great with that little taste of Anise. I wish I had more of it.
