We've been over this. You're lying about not liking stouts. Either to yourself or us. :)

I hate the taste of coffee, why would I like the taste of stouts?

Technically, a stout is a kind of ale. ;)

Yes, I do understand that. Does anyone have a good reference for the types of beers. Maybe a breakdown of the various types?

Might be tough to read. I want to find a full size poster of this.

The basic difference between an Ale and a Lager is the yeast that is used and fermentation. Ales use a top fermenting yeast that ferments at warmer temperatures and less amount of fermentation time. Lagers use a bottom fermenting yeast that ferments at colder temperatures and a longer fermentation time.

Justin, honest question... do you have a size limit to photos that can be viewed? I found a big version of your beer poster, but comes out the same size as the one you posted.

A Trappistes Rochefort 10 has been purchased. Hope it is as good as the reputation.

I think the software resizes all images down. Just post a link to it.

Yeah, "lagering" (fermenting a lager) seems like a pain in the ass because you need to use a fridge or freezer to get it cold enough. I can ferment an ale in my basement with no problems.

Making a lager is something that is much more difficult because of the temperatures required than I want to deal with. Maybe when there's a bunch of snow outside that I can bring in to cool the primary I'll do one.

I've thought about getting a side-by-side fridge for the basement and use one side for lagering and the other for fermenting ales. If I can find one cheap enough I might do it.

Ah nice. I was so excited when I saw the Punkin and the banana bread beer that I really didnt pay a lot of attention to what else they had. I will have to go back up there.
