ohiotiger33First time in the history of Clemson B-ball that we have made the tournament three years in a row. Thanks OP!

MulvaGeorgia Tech may be playing itself out of a tourney bid. Down 17 at home to Va Tech (who is playing itself in), and going to finish 7-9 in conference play.
Ole Miss is also in a lot of trouble, down 8 @ Arkansas with 5 minutes left. A loss would put them at 8-8 in a lackluster SEC.
Louisville has certainly secured a bid today and Notre Dame really helped themselves as well. Cincinnati and UConn have 0 chance of an at large as both lost again today.
Memphis is going to be an interesting case. 23-8, 13-3 in CUSA with a 75-53 win over Tulsa today to close out the year.
And finally, Charlotte loses at home to Richmond, and it's at-large chances are now essentially gone as well.
Busy day on the bubble. -
Azubuike24Things are starting to become more clear.
Mississippi State can likely put themselves back in if they beat Tennessee later.
Rhode Island must hold on today against UMass
Seton Hall is still alive, but a long shot.
Arizona State is a team who is probably creeping back up the rankings.
The Big East has a pretty clear 8, unless someone goes wild in the BE Tourney.
The Atlantic 10 has a pretty clear max of 4 with Rhode Island still being fairly questionable.
Conference USA is likely going to get 2 with UTEP and Memphis/UAB.
Northern Iowa, Butler, Gonzaga, Old Dominion, Utah State, Murray State and Siena can help bubble teams out by not losing in their conference tournies.
I think the ACC (GT), Mountain West (SDSU) and SEC (Mississippi State) may just benefit from these happenings and get their borderline teams in. -
Azubuike24Ole Miss has taken the lead in Fayetteville with a flurry in the last 3 minutes. Chris Warren with 30 points.
-
Azubuike24Honestly, I've watched Ole Miss all year and they are frustrating as hell. Today, without suspended Eniel Polynice, they comeback from 11 down in the 2nd half and shock the Hogs at Bud-Walton Arena. They showed a fight and grit that I always admired about Andy Kennedy, but has been missing most of the season.
Mississippi 68, Arkansas 66 - Final
Chris Warren with 31 points...unbelievably clutch performance. -
MulvaRhode Island loses to UMass. Wow.
-
Laley23Its early (I guess thats the only hope), but L O L at Miss St right now.
-
Azubuike24It's early. They will shoot 40 three-pointers before it's over. Their success depends on whether they can make them.
-
Azubuike24The bubble is weakening big time. Connecticut might actually STILL be alive at 7-11 in the B.E. How sad is that?

Georgia Tech should be done. They finished 7-9 in the ACC and 19-11 overall. Their OOC schedule was pathetic. The only OOC team they played that has an rpi in the top 50 was Dayton and they lost on a neutral court.Georgia Tech may be playing itself out of a tourney bid. Down 17 at home to Va Tech (who is playing itself in), and going to finish 7-9 in conference play. -
mattinctownVa. Tech should definitely be in with a 10-6 ACC record, don't care how weak their OOC schedule was. I'm sure Paul Hewitt is probably sweating right now, I'd say his job is on the line if Tech doesn't make the field. If they get to the ACC semis it will be interesting to see if they get in, don't think they deserve to but with the field so weak this year.....?
Joe Lunardi has Memphis as one of his last four in, along with St. Marys, UAB, and the other team I forgot. -
Laley23Man, MSU looked awful today. Odd, cause the other times I watched them they have looked solid.
-
september63I agree. Va Tech is in. GT might need an ACC title in tourney!
-
ironman02At 17-14 and 7-11 in the Big East, UConn better not be in the NCAA field. If they make a run in the Big East tournament, then I'm sure a solid case could be made for them, but as it stands, they should be out in my opinion.
I thought GT was a lock for the NCAAs a few weeks ago. They're falling apart, and the same goes for Wake. At one time, I thought the ACC was getting 7 teams in for sure, but probably not gonna happen now.
Va Tech should be in, especially with a 10-6 ACC record, even if the conference is down. Notre Dame has been a huge surprise for me, especially playing without Harangody. Looks like they're probably in unless the lose early in the Big East tourney. -
mattinctownAfter looking at Ga. Tech's nonconference schedule, their best win was against Charlotte, who probably won't make the tournament. Also beat Siena, who has to win their conference tournament. I'd say they need to make the finals of the ACCT, they'll play Carolina in the first round.
No way UConn should get in, I know the field is weak this year but not THAT weak -
wildcats20If Florida beats Kentucky Sunday, are they in?
I think it takes this win and 2 more in the SEC Tourny. -
MulvaIf Florida beats Kentucky they are a stone cold lock. If they don't (which they won't), they probably do need 2 SEC tourney wins.
I've been saying Mississippi State was overrated all year. I haven't seen them as an NCAA team from the start, and I certainly don't see them as worthy now.
UAB lost by 2 @ UTEP tonight. UTEP is now a lock, and I think UAB is 3rd in the CUSA pecking order behind Memphis. They'll be one of the last 4 in or out now regardless of what happens in the CUSA tourney.
Butler, Northern Iowa, and Siena all continuing to win has to be really uplifting for these equally undeserving at large possibilities. -
MulvaI think Illinois beats Wisconsin today and solidifies itself.
-
Azubuike24Florida, with a loss, probably moves right to that last 4 in line, maybe one of the last 1 or 2 out. Their wins over MSU and FSU are still going to trump a lot of other resumes.
Florida will face Alabama in the first round of the SEC Tourney, a Bama team who played them very tough earlier in the year. They then would get Mississippi State in round 2, which would be a for sure elimination game. -
NonIf they lose the opening round game, they're done.
I think one win will get them in, since they played Kentucky tough. -
Azubuike24Illinois is about to drop to 18-13 with an RPI around 80 and SOS around 50. They are really not an NCAA team I don't think.
They have 4 GREAT wins, and NOTHING else. They beat Clemson, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin and Michigan State. Against all other RPI top 100 teams, they are 1-11, with their win coming at home against Wofford. -
devil1197Yeah, ILL is out imo they needed the W today.
-
Azubuike24Unfortunately for Illinois, they get the 5th seed, and have no opening round game to pad their win resume. They get Wisconsin on Friday and it's an absolute must win.
-
Laley23Illinois shouldnt be in even with a win. They need to get to the finals.
I said earlier in the year I thought the B10 was pretty bad as a whole (IE only 3 good teams and then Wisky was good but is not a true threat because of the nature of their team). Illinois is just not a very good team. Hell, Indiana almost beat them twice!
