Musta been Kelly giving one of his famous Fire & Brimstone pregame speeches -
Pick6The real question is IF Notre Dame goes 6-6 again, will they accept there bowl game? Or save themselves the embarassment of losing like they did last year.
-
karen lotzI guess we will have to wait and see won't we Pick? I could have sworn I just ready you say you were done arguing. Is this you just trolling now?
Also, their, not there. If you are going to call people morons, you should probably do what you can to make yourself look like less of one. -
Tiger2003I really think Notre Dame should win 9 games ....I really could see them starting the season 5-0......before they meet with Pitt....
The 3 losses come from Pitt, Utah and USC.......But who knows the Irish could be 11-0 and when they take the trip to So Cal.......The schedule really favors the Irish, only having 3 True road games....... -
karen lotzThey had a favorable schedule last year as well. They could open 5-0, could open 2-3. If Crist can get comfortable in the system and his knee holds up, they very well could have a successful season.

I agree with you. Did I really just say that? Brian Kelly will get the most out of his players each game. Who do you see them losing to in the first 5 games? Michigan, Michigan State and Stanford? -
sjmvsfscs08Stanford had talent other than Gerhart, he had to have holes to run through and Stanford obviously made them. I don't think they'll have enough for the Irish though.
I think Southern Cal will completely dominate the trenches. Problem for Southern Cal is that doesn't necessarily mean you're going to control the game against Kelly's schemes. It's a toss up but I think the Trojans will sadly win.
Again, I could see how the Irish win every game and lose every game except Western Michigan and Army. So they'll end up somewhere between 12-0 and 2-10. -
karen lotzNot saying they will lose to anyone specific. Hell they could come out the first game against Purdue and the offense could be so out of sync they don't score. Like I said, I think most of the season rests on Crist's knee, arm, and head...not that that is a big stretch. If the offense can gel and get on the same page in Kelly's system, they have plenty of talented weapons to be a pretty prolific offense. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point because there are a lot of positives coming out of South Bend but until it translates to the field it doesn't mean much.
-
sjmvsfscs08^^word. Notre Dame's strengths at WR, TE and RB become irrelevant if the QB doesn't have his shit together. This OL won't be able to support a conventional running game, let along a one dimensional offense because the passing attack is shit.
But I too am cautiously optimistic, as always. Kelly has done well everywhere else, and had rather immediate success with a modicum of talent. Soooo, I guess we shall see. -
karen lotzI'm looking forward to seeing what kind of impact Longo can have on the team. He has played a big part in Kelly's success so far and I've read a few tales of some of the transformations he's made so far in South Bend. Chris Stewart weighed in at like 340 and couldn't do a single pull up. I don't remember the time frame exactly, but I'm sure it was by the time Spring ball rolled around, Stewart was doing something crazy like 28 pull ups?? That's insane for a guy that big in that short of time.
ok I was a little off on the numbers but still....
At 358 pounds, Stewart is the largest player on Notre Dame's roster. When Longo and his staff came to town, Chris was able to do one pull-up, which is pretty impressive when you consider the weight he's carrying. Fast-forward six months, and last week Stewart ripped off 20 pull-ups in a row. That's incredible. -
Hamp894* RB Justice Hayes commits to the Irish today. Great get..

karen lotzBeat me to it Hamp. Hopefully he will get that 5th star by the time fall practice starts.
Yesterday was the last day of summer workouts. I don't know if its been mentioned on here or not but 100% of scholarship players stayed in South Bend this summer to workout with Longo. Fall camp starts Aug 7. -

karen lotzAnother big get today for the Irish. 4 star outside linebacker Anthony Rabasa is the 14th commit of the class after making his first ever trip to South Bend. He has a pretty impressive list of finalists including Florida, Florida State, LSU, and Miami.
I love reading this quote:
What I love the most about them, is the tradition of the school. The perks that come with getting a degree from Notre Dame open so many doors. It's unreal. If you say you go to Notre Dame, everyone is going to be shocked. If you say you play ball for Notre Dame, everyone is going to be shocked. This is unbelievable, and something I couldn't let go. -
TheMightyGatorsND fans, what would you guys consider a successful season this year?

Actually, the realk question is if you can post anything dumber than that?
Get your facts straight before you post anything........they didn't accept a bowl game last year because of the coaching change. LMAO........save themselves the embarassment of losing, you're such a douche! -

In all seriousness, I would be happy with an 8 win season and a decent bowl game, would be really good in Kelly's first year.
