Henderson will not sign LOI yet !
-
Speedofsandgot a tweet that they want to wait until USC meets the NCAA Feb.19-21 to 'get a feel' for possible sanctions at USC. If they are going to get nailed, Henderson might go elsewhere.

According to Henderson’s father, Sean, he will wait until U.S.C. appears before an N.C.A.A. infractions committee from Feb. 19-21 to hear about possible sanctions for the program before deciding whether to sign the letter. Though the Trojans are not likely to hear about any possible sanctions at that time, Sean Henderson said the hearing would give the family a sense of where the process was headed.
Henderson has until April 1 to sign a letter of intent. After that, Seantrel Henderson could find himself in a situation similar to Terrelle Pryor in 2008. Sean Henderson declined further comment.
also that led me to this article, Henderson's dad sounds like a dickhead, and the kid has yet to qualify academically. ...The dad didn't like OSU's classroom population and said Dick Tressel was boring. ...Said they deserved a phone call from Pete Carroll. ( like Pete's gonna call a kid who MIGHT commit later. )

Seantrel and his father said they liked the stability of the Ohio State coaching staff but not the university’s large class sizes. During Tressel’s home visit last month, he told Seantrel in great detail what his first year would be like for the Buckeyes.
Henderson’s father described the talk as “pretty long-winded” and “kind of dry.” Afterward, Tressel mentioned to the Hendersons that he was always told he talked a lot.
“He’s so informative and so to the point and so much about business, that it was a little boring,” Sean Henderson said. -
ironman02Just posted this in the Ohio State recruiting thread.
Pretty crazy. -
devil1197Yeah he hasn't signed his LOI for USC.
Quite frankly I hope he stays in USC and takes his father with him.
IF, IF he goes to OSU his father is banned from Ohio.
Gotta love that being precise and truthful is boring. -

Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous. Apparently you should just crack jokes and say whatever the recruit wants to hear, rather than give them important information about the next four years of their life.devil1197 wrote:

I guess you have to play to each particular audience, but it's just ridiculous that he held Tressel's attention to detail against him.
The dad is a nut. -
SpeedofsandPretty funny he was hanging out with McKinnie and the next day McKinnie got kicked off the Pro Bowl team.
-
detectivegibblesHis dad is a wannabe gangster, plain and simple. I can already picture what this tool acts like.
-
ytownfootballAwww, Seantrel and his old man didn't get a dog and pony show.
Get
The
Fuck
Out
That's not why you go to Ohio State. Glad Jim does things the way he does. -
raiderbuckLarge class sizes? Dude...you get free tutors day and night, you can study with your teammates. Large class sizes? When is that ever a factor?
-
ghosthunter
I completely agree. If a student has a sincere desire to learn, class size is not going to make a bit of difference, unless you expect for the instructor to hold your hand and spoon feed you the curriculum.raiderbuck wrote: Large class sizes? Those comments may be very telling about the young man's attitude towards academics, and the father could be trying to protect him because he knows what his son is capable of in the classroom. I'll go on record to say that if he stays healthy, and is as good as everyone feels he is, then he's a 3 year player and leaves his school, wherever that may be, without a degree, and will probably not be close to fulfilling the requirements for the degree. To have all those intangible and tangible benefits, and not have your ACT locked into where it needs to be BY NOW speaks volumes to me. -
gorocks99His dad's a fuckwad.
-
visionquestSounds like an ass....in turn, don't care to ever see him in a Bucks uniform. Have fun on probation!

btw,if he stays at USC,will the old man be staying in the same condo as Reggie's parents did--and with the same "rental arrangement"? -
centralbucksfanHis dad is what he is. Once that kid signs, he is owned by the university and football team. His father will then be pushed out and away. If you think this is the only crazy father out there, your kidding yourself. I am sure these big time programs have to deal with idiots like this all the time.
Bottom line, if he doesn't sign with USC...I sure as well hope he comes to OSU. I highly doubt any of you would turn him away too. His dad can run his mouth all he wants now...once the kid signs...we'll not hear anything about dad.
And shame on Tressel for being so "boring and detailed"! I mean why would a parent want to hear everything about the place they are sending their kid to live for the next 4yrs!! LOL
How ignorant is he to think that OSU class size is going to be any different then USC as well. Comical comments. -
bartsimpsonSo they asked Kiffin "to be as upfront as possible about possible sanctions against USC".....
Haha....yep, because Kiffin is well known for being Mr. Honesty.....lol -
BCBulldogI'm feeling better and better about this dbag going to the left coast. The more he and his father talk, the more I remember why Maurice Clarett was a bad idea.
-
Soda PopinskiThere is really no reason to blast the kid. His Dad ok, but not Seantrel. All he has done so far is issue a verbal and is now making sure they are not in any kind of trouble before signing. I see nothing wrong with that. On the subject of Tressel's recruiting, I can imagine how boring that must have been. He probably felt like he was sitting in class getting lectured to. I am not saying he has to do magic tricks or act like Lane Kiffin, but perhaps if he would make things sound a little more interesting and not be so terribly boring to listen to talk we wouldn't have this problem. As wrong as it may be, the way things get said is often more important than what gets said. He could just be a little more inthusiastic and interesting to listen.
-
tbdbitl_osuI really hope the kid comes to Ohio State....I don't care what his dad is like....He will be shut out just like most parents are...You are crazy if you think his father is the only one like this...
-
darbypitcher22He's not going to OSU now. You can be certain Dad burned a lot of bridges with those comments...
Thanks fucker. -
gorocks99How much must it have sucked for Tressel to text Henderson's dad about how he could be on the Grammys? Ugh.
-
thedynasty1998Guy doesn't commit and now everyone is blasting him. Crazy how much feelings can change in 24 hours. I don't blame him or his dad one bit.
-
gorocks99For the record, I've thought his dad was crazy for months. I got nothing against the kid.
-
jordo212000Yeah I don't hold anything against the kid. His dad sounds like a piece of work though. I'd still love to have him, and I'd bet that Tress would too. (Remember, Tress put up with Ray Small's dad)
It wasn't very classy to say that Dick Tressel was "boring," however true it may be. -
sleeperHenderson will be a bust, book it!

No one is blasting him, I think he is a good kid.thedynasty1998 wrote: Guy doesn't commit and now everyone is blasting him. Crazy how much feelings can change in 24 hours. I don't blame him or his dad one bit.
His father on the other hand seems like an attention whore with some bad intentions.
They knew USC was being investigated, they could have waited to make the announcement and that would have created more publicity for them ala Pryor. But now they look stupid and I wouldn't put it passed Tressel to move on. He obviously knows that OSU is the 2nd choice in case any major sanctions occur, Tressel wants players that want to be OSU guys not fall back options. -
j_crazy^if he does change his mind and tressel turns him away, he's an idiot.
