Is Urban Meyer a joke?

LOL, I'm not getting anything in a "bunch" over this, in fact I don't care but, if you think there hasn't been any shots taken at Meyer in this thread, you're either blind or can't read.:-/devil1197 wrote:No one is taking shots, its called a discussion. Quit getting your panties in a bunch.
I don't agree with how he handled the situation, it makes him look like an idiot when he says one thing and then does another within a short timespan. -

Are you confusing shots with opinions?lhslep134 wrote:

My opinion is that Meyer is a liar and his idiotic decisions over the past two months have been ridiculous.
Some may consider that a shot but its an opinion. I think there is something more to this story and I hope we eventually find out. -
Tiernan^^^
It's no longer an "opinion" if its a fact. (Now that's a shot...and please mark me down for taking it). -

I am not sure anyone is discounting his health issues. But again, at least to me...the "timing" of it all as far as announcing. During the bowl week? He could have easily waited another week. He took all the press away from the game and the players. I could care less about this rings. Good for him. As I said, he is a great coach. But the timing of what he did, was POOR judgement and classless IMO.lhslep134 wrote: As a Florida fan I can tell you that you can shove Urban's two national championship rings up your ass if you think that this is some sort of ploy. He has legitimate, documented health concerns, but he loves coaching SO MUCH that he tried, for a day and a half, to completely un-involve himself from coaching and he couldn't even do it, much to the chagrin of his family.
If that makes him a joke, then what are you guys? Complete embarrassments to the human race? -

Certainly shots have been taken. And when you make a choice to do what Meyer has done, quit, come back, leave , then not...you open yourself up to shots, and deservingly so. National media is taking their shots as well. It is what it is....and comes with the territory when you make a hasty decision and then change it multiple times after holding all the press at bay during bowl week.lhslep134 wrote: Devil, my "hahahahah" wasn't implying that YOU were taking shots, it was laughing at the fact that you said no shots have been taken. TiernanI gotta Glock 9 with enough rounds to take shots all day. If only he'd quit hiding behind that big slow kid with the #15 jersey so I could get a better bead on his lyin', classless, cheatin' head.

Just wondering here, can you find me an example of the national media taking a shot? I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the national media is taking shots...centralbucksfan wrote:

And I'm not asking for a blogger, I'm asking for someone who would be part of the national media, i.e. a newspaper, ESPN, AP, etc. -

Choosing to spend free time discussing this stuff is hardly "waisting" one's time (I sure hope you don't have a ND education showing itself there) if it's something you feel like doing.rock_knutne wrote: ^^^^^^Hey, talk away, it is a free country. IMO, you guys are waisting your time on a "theory" that's ridiculous and looking to take what ever shot you can at Meyer........standard protocol around here.
Oh, and saying Meyer is a liar isn't taking a shot. It's stating a documented fact. -
TiernanC'mon Writer you know that 99.9% of Irish fans have never even been to South Bend let alone graduate from there. Knutne is from Steubenville for Gods Sake and anyone with a second grade educations knows dey ain't no Domers comin' outta dat hell hole on da riva'.

Here we go, bring ND in to the equation when they have nothing to do with the topic.......typical of the ilk!
Tiernan, anytime, anywhere.......I'll flip a coin with you for your net worth! -
WriterbuckeyeIf by "ilk" you mean people who can't stand arrogant, self-righteous, self aggrandizing (oh and very delusional) Domers -- then yes. I'm part of that "ilk".

just curious, if he in fact is a *liar* or did in fact *lie* why does that bother you?Writerbuckeye wrote:

There's one- ESPN radio (Mike & Mike, & others) took plenty of shots as well. -

A discussion means there are two sides to the argument, and rational discourse.Writerbuckeye wrote: Yeah, God forbid people on a DISCUSSION FORUM should actually DISCUSS college football and the coaches who are in the news.
Seems pretty dum to me.
That never happens here.
When everyone's just one one side and all agrees, and just goes off on the few with differing opinions, its called a circle jerk. -

As why I "care" whether or not Urban's a liar -- I think I already said I detest liars; especially those who use the lies to make themselves look (1) good (2) better (3) sympathetic.
Do all college coaches lie?
I doubt it.
I'm sure many of them do, but I haven't seen any do it on the scale this was done. -
lhslep134Writer, you want an ON THE MARK read, that explains what happened? Or will the facts blow your brain up?
