If Bama, Miami, Ok, Clemson, Wisconsin, Auburn win out they are in...I️ think Georgia as well but possibly not.

Because a few play each other

    Auburn beats Bama...then Georgia

    Clemson narrowly edges Miami

    OK gets upset by WVU

Wisconsin drills UM and @ Minn and narrowly loses to OSU who ran table in ugly manner over Illinois and Mich

    That would be fun!

I think if OSU comes in at 8 or higher, they are in if they dominate and win out.

Anything lower, it's a huge long shot.

OSU would still have a better resume than Wisconsin. Wisconsin is out if they lose any game. They have one of the easiest schedules of anyone. They have 1 top 25 win in Northwestern and Iowa who won't be ranked this week.

Here’s what needs to happen for Ohio State to have a chance:

    1. Win out, preferably with decisive wins over Michigan and Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game.
    2. Oklahoma wins out.
    3. Alabama wins out, leaving Auburn or Georgia with at least two losses and no league title.
    4. Miami wins out, leaving Clemson with at least two losses and no league title.

Ok that would put OSU over Wisconsin but maybe not over the others in that scenario

A lot needs to happen for OSU to get in.

With Wisconsin being unbeaten when OSU plays them, probably. Can't afford for them to be anything less than a "Top 5" win. If Michigan beats Wisky this week, it'd be a Top 15 win next week and a Top 10 in the championship. I'd rather have a (barely) Top 25 and a Top 5 simply because one Top 5 is bigger than two lesser Top 25s.

Gotcha. That makes sense, I just wasn't thinking.

I didn't realize how boring the matchups were this weekend. Only game between ranked teams is UM Wisky.....

Yeah, it's SEC eats a cupcake weekend.

All SEC schools should drop in rankings for taking a off weekend

    ND ahead of OSU.....garbage
I hope we win out and the committee punishes them for not being in a conference
  • Ironman92
    The fuck?
  • Ironman92
How in the fuck is Oklahoma 4? 3 wins vs top 13 and 2 were on road.

OSU would jump them with a win over Wisky. OSU only shot at final 4 is if Bama, Miami, and Oklahoma win out. I'm surprised they even have a shot.

Clemson at 2 is a joke
  • Ironman92
Still going to be unforeseen upsets...book it

Teams like South Carolina and Pitt could bite the ACC powers

    Michigan could eff things up

    @Minnesota

    West Virginia

    Georgia Tech

There’s more to the puzzle and it’s not as set as it appears.

    Oh, and fuck ND

Your hate is too strong here. ND has better wins than OSU atm. This is not complicated.
  • ironman02
If Ohio State wins out and is a conference champion, they will not be behind Notre Dame. ND could still lose to Stanford anyway.

The path is there for OSU, but it's still gonna have to happen perfectly. I'm not the least bit confident that Miami beats Clemson, and that's what will create a problem (unless they somehow slip up against UVA or Pitt). The committee will absolutely take a one loss Miami over a 2-loss B1G champion Ohio State. It's exactly how the Buckeyes got into the playoff last year. The same scenario could play out with Bama if they lose to Auburn or Georgia.

Bottom line, the Buckeyes absolutely need Bama, Miami, and Oklahoma to win out. Well, I guess Oklahoma winning out might not be completely necessary, but it's just more clear cut if they do. A 2 loss non-champion Oklahoma probably wouldn't be ahead of a 2-loss B1G champion OSU, but the fact that Oklahoma beat us soundly could be enough for a team that potentially beat them (TCU) to jump us.
  • Ironman92
They directly said Clemson and their SIX wins against teams with a .500 or better record was huge
  • Spock
2 loss OSU over a 1 loss Miami team is not going to happen folks.
