2016 Ohio State Discussion

Michigan State should be pretty easy IF the offense plays remotely on the level it did Saturday. Their game with Michigan showed that when fired up for a rival game, they can play competitively with a good team for a while, but the end result, as well as the rest of their season simply shows they aren't a good team this year. And even if they're fired up, you'd have to think that having lost to them last year and them being a lot weaker this year, that Urban will be looking to send a message.

To me, the only question is if the loss to PSU is the same as last year's loss to MSU, where it served as a total wake up call where they come out firing on all cylinders afterward (and since this year's loss came earlier, if that wake-up call lasts for the rest of the year, as it was only two games last year).

The game @ MSU being at noon helps. Would much rather play an away game at noon vs. at night. Much different atmosphere....should have made the Michigan game a night game.

If Im the city of Columbus (or Ann Arbor), I'm pushing for 12:00 every single year. Last thing I want is a ton of pissed off (drunk) home fans after a loss, at midnight.

Honest question...does the city have anything to do with that decision? I'm sure the city aren't fans of it...but if I'm university, and a 8pm atmostphere even gives me 1% better chance of winning and making it to B1G champ game/playoff...I'm doing it every time.

Doubt the city has anything to do with it at this point.

Question for anyone who has issue with the noon kickoff for "The Game"...

    Did you attend Ohio State?

    I'm guessing no.

    Doubtful.

My sole reason is easy......I enjoy night games much better. Just more fun to watch, seem to have much more energy in the fans, and to be honest, being an adult it affords me free time during the day to get shit done during the daylight on the weekend!

If you are worried about more energy in the stands for the Michigan/Ohio State game, than something has gone terribly wrong.

    There can always be more......

I just prefer night games more....all the way 'round.

You're fine to disagree...but would you rather play at Penn State and Wisconsin at noon or at night? And don't give me the whole "Well we'd win regardless". It's a different atmosphere and intensity at night...see this past Saturday. I agree that it's intense for the Game regardless, I went to the '06 3:30 kick and that was nuts. But again...I think it'd be awesome for an 8oclock game.

If we played Wisconsin/Penn State on the moon at 3am in the morning, we should win by at least 6 TDs.

Absolutely embarrassing that we lost to Penn State; similar to the loss to Illinois in 2007, I'll never get over it.

Personally, if I am on the road and the better team, like OSU was with PSU/WIsky, I would rather play at noon/330 than on the road than the night game. Just dont think the opponents and their fans bring as much intensity.

At home, I would rather play the games at night, especially if I am the lesser team. I dont have much experience going to college games, mostly just NFL. The prime time/night games...the intensity all the way around is much higher for the night game.

    Yes. 2007-2011. Noon games suck.

Naw. I have a Juice Williams and Mendanhall dart board that I had custom built. It's getting pretty beat up but I'll order a new one if needed.

Translation: I'm too weak to get up at 7am to dominate.

That doesn't really make a case for noon games not sucking.

I've been to 2 OSU UM games...2006 3:30 kick, and 2010. 2006 was insane. Granted, 2010 was ugly at the half. But that 2010 game atmosphere/intensity was nothing even at the beginning compared to the OSU vs. USC 8pm game in '09 I went to. Explain why a non-rival 8pm game was more intense than a noon kick vs. best rivalry in sports?

    game day...GO BUCKS!

I would like to see some deep passes today. Jt needs to start hitting the open deep threat when they do actually get separation. The line play to keep improving and some blitzing would be nice to see on the defensive side as well.

They need a 60-0 type game for style points

Beth Mowins is calling the game. NOOOOOOOO!!!
