It's probably been said but even if msu beats Ole miss. If the teams in front of them don't lose, they could get jumped by osu. Because osu could potentially be a one loss conference champ. Whereas miss st won't even be playing in the title game. Same thing with tcu and Baylor. Them not having a title game keeps them from potentially another top 10 win. -

Ole Miss win SEC Championship
Ohio St loses to Wisconsin in B1G Championship
TCU and Baylor are the catches....if they lose then it's easily Ole Miss but if Kansas St wins at Baylor.....I think Ole Miss could pass TCU -

Does anyone else wonder if the recent discussions of SEC bias by ESPN is playing a role in ESPN's sudden love of the Buckeyes? It just seems since Fowler's diatribe on Game Day and subsequent articles showing the bias, they have changed their tune about other teams. -

It's still there. On "CFB Today," or whatever the hell it's called, the guy opposite him was nut hugging the SEC BAAAAD, saying that they deserved 2 teams in the CFB playoffs, if MSU wins out and Bama wins the conference championship game. Matich then stated, (paraphrase) "How can MSU make it to the playoff when they didn't even make it to their conference champ. game. Tiernan"The who would you not want to play today?" factor is growing stronger. There are 6 people on the committee that coached football in some capacity in their careers and understand this is a legit question to be asking at the end of the season. My % of accuracy they are not getting in is now at 82%. (stick it up your ass S&L)

Auburn has wins against Kansas State and Ole Miss. Nebraska has wins against uhh? Wiscy is probably the only team behind them I think should be ahead. -

KSU played no one beat no one. Ole Miss beat Alabama and no one else. The only difference is Nebraska doesn't get the opportunity to play against multiple ranked teams because their schedule isn't given favorable pre-season rankings. To sum this thread up. No one has beaten anyone good. If you beat a ranked team it is because that ranked team sucks and hasn't beaten a good team. -

Unless you are in the SEC. The reality is, B1G teams drop 15 spots when they lose early, SEC teams drop 3 spots and the team that beat them is now a top 10 team. Do you think titles won or amount of players drafted into the NFL has anything to do with the supposed SEC bias?

Kudos to the SEC. But those titles and NFL players have very little to do with this year, whats going on now. SEC deserves all the accolades it gets. But this is not the SEC of past years. Teams like Auburn, LSU, SC, A&M and even the top teams are not what they have been in past years. They are getting a bit too much credit from the PAST. I think the former has a little to do with it but the big swing is the when the ESPN teamed up with the SEC for the SEC Network unlike the Pac-12, B1G who have their own competing networks. ESPN pimping its own conference makes them more money which in turn influences the majority of casual CFB fans into thinking the SEC is the best conference. Their history is def a point of reference. Because of the vast landscape of college football there just isnt enough head to head matchups to truly compare teams. If you are 10-1 from Conference A who hasnt been particularly good and 10-1 from Conference B who has won quite a bit that will factor into how the voters think. I def believe that factors into it. It'll never change unless the B1G wins a few championships in a row, with a few of them not being Ohio State. Of course a team with 1 loss can be better than an undefeated team. This isn't a debate worth having. The issue is we only have 4 teams eligible to compete in the playoff so we have to rely on simple built in filters like being the best team in your own conference. If SEC fans don't like it, I'll gladly take the entire SEC East and 5 of the 7 teams in the SEC West in the B1G and they can learn quickly they aren't that great and deserve nothing.thavoice;1676335 wrote:Their history is def a point of reference.
