Its a snake.ohiobucks1;1662281 wrote:lol damnit. Is it a snake draft at least? -
ohiobucks1Is it a one time draft or is it like last year where we go one at a time? If its a 1 time draft, this weekend isn't going to work great for me because I dont have 2 hours free. I have a few mins here and there though where I can post my picks (wont take me much time since I'm only going to draft the players i know)
-
Laley23AZ posted everything you need to know last night.
-
Laley23And, Mulva destroyed us all picking 12th last year.
As for websites, I just use ESPN stats from last year and ignore the guys who graduated. Then pick what freshman I want to target. -
ohiobucks1Ok I saw it. I only have a few more quesitons:
1) When people are drafted will they be taken off of the website or do we just hae to keep track of everyone?
2) Are the players on the fantrax website (under players) all available to be picked? IE theyre in the conferences that are allowed. -
MulvaAny player can be picked, but all conferences are included in the player pool. You only get 2 wildcard players from outside the 12 major conferences that are listed in the rules, so you definitely have to pay attention to which conference a guy is from.
-
Laley23And I don't think the players will be taken down until Az does it manually at the end. Since we aren't drafting through them, it won't know. Maybe Az can add them as we go, but that is asking a lot.

I would hope we could get it updated round to round or something, but not every pick.Laley23;1662314 wrote:And I don't think the players will be taken down until Az does it manually at the end. Azubuike24I will try to update the Fantrax site as we go. It won't be pick by pick, but I will go in there and input the rosters as we go, if I can. I suggest everyone at least check that website out before we start. Obviously people are going to use their own sources and such to pick players, but at least become familar with it and what not.

birddog23Draft is starting today, correct?
-
SportsAndLadyWould love if it started tomorrow instead. I'm cracking open a beer and about to go stand outside the Browns bar here in Chicago to get a table.
Needless to say I will be hammered all day -
SportsAndLadyThat being said if it does start today I'll be fine to make my picks, just may draft players who are now in the NBA or an all kansas jayhawks team

Can't be as bad as me taking Wayne Selden in about the 4th round last year.SportsAndLady;1662693 wrote:That being said if it does start today I'll be fine to make my picks, just may draft players who are now in the NBA or an all kansas jayhawks team -
IliketurtlesI know who I'm taking so I don't care when we start. Just gotta hope pick6 doesn't take my guy.
-
Azubuike24I was gonna start it at 8 PM tonight, but honestly, it's a 12-hour window between picks and we really have issues with if we skip people in round 1. So, I'll leave it at 8 PM, but S&L picks 5th, and say that's at 10 PM OTC, really you won't have your pick due until 2 PM tomorrow because no timer between 12-8AM.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Mulva again.Mulva;1663883 wrote:... -
Pick6dont mean to nag, but can we keep the discussion in this thread and not in the draft thread? I dont have much time to check and its hard to follow where we are with all of the discussion there. I dont want to hold us up when it is my turn and I think it would speed the process up as well in general.
-
Azubuike24The really won't be much discussion until the draft is over, haha.

MulvaJust out of curiosity, is trading picks permitted?
Like if I had wanted to go the RGIII route and offer my first 3 picks to Pick6 for the #1 and his 14th and 15th rounders or something like that to land Williams, would I have had the option to propose it? Just wondering since the highest scoring player is worth $25 by himself. -
Azubuike24I honestly don't really care, but everyone has to have 15 players. So, however it works out, I don't see why not. Do people object?
-
Azubuike24Speaking of that, I think we should make a requirement that the "highest scorer" plays in like 75%+ of his team's total games to be eligible.
-
MulvaI don't think it's particularly relevant anymore for this year, because presumably if you think a guy is going to end up MVP you would take him with your first pick. Trades after the 1st round would just add more time to the process, and with 4000 players to choose from shouldn't be necessary.
-
Azubuike24True, and with that argument, I don't think it's worth giving up the #1 overall scorer to move up slightly in other spots. In college, things are much more up in the air performance-wise than other sports.

I think we said they have to play in 20+ games which would be like 67%. I'm cool with 20+ games or 75%.Azubuike24;1664265 wrote:Speaking of that, I think we should make a requirement that the "highest scorer" plays in like 75%+ of his team's total games to be eligible.
