Are wee keeping these conferences the same before I start to rank my players?Azubuike24;1660777 wrote:Last year I believe we used Pac 12, SEC, ACC, Big East, AAC, Big Ten, Big XII, A-10, C-USA, Mountain West, WCC and Missouri Valley. -

We also need to confirm scoring setup. It's pretty important.Laley23;1661618 wrote:Are wee keeping these conferences the same before I start to rank my players? -

Yeah, those are the last 2 things.Mulva;1661619 wrote:We also need to confirm scoring setup. It's pretty important.
Ill just say this final thought on scoring and be done with it.
If we are going to have anything be worth *2 if should be only steals, as those directly prevent a scoring opportunity and gain possession for your team. That is much more valuable than a block, which directly stops a shot attempt, but guarantees nothing else.
Frankly, I think both are too high, as they should be NO MORE than an assist, which is DIRECTLY leading to a basket. I get that it adds value to different types of players, but to be more realistic to how impact full the given stats are to real life, I think the breakdown should be...
PTS - 1x1
REB - 1x1.25
AST - 1x1.5
BLK - 1x1.5
STL - 1x5
TOs - 1x-1
This is more reflective of the importance of the actual game. Granted, points should be 1x2 in this rationale, but thats just a bad idea lol. This still weights the other stats such that players of different team value can bring our fantasy team value, but it doesnt sway it so much that certain players are more valuable than the actual best players. -
Azubuike24I see no reason to change this list, unless someone sees another league they want included.
-

I was thinking maybe Horizon over Con-USA. But, thats just at first glance thinking Horizon has better teams. No real basis for it.Azubuike24;1661625 wrote:I see no reason to change this list, unless someone sees another league they want included. -
Azubuike24I'd be fine with last year's setup, but reducing blocks to 1.5 per.
-
Azubuike24
We could use both. Or neither. 15 x 11 = 165 (or 15x12=180) drafted players. 12 x 12 = 144 drafted players. Given slightly higher roster sizes, adding a league probably makes sense along with 2 WC's.Laley23;1661633 wrote:I was thinking maybe Horizon over Con-USA. Im good with both of these. 1.5 for blocks and adding Horizon.Azubuike24;1661685 wrote:We could use both. Or neither. 15 x 11 = 165 (or 15x12=180) drafted players. 12 x 12 = 144 drafted players. Given slightly higher roster sizes, adding a league probably makes sense along with 2 WC's. -
Laley23Should we finalize draft order today?
-
Azubuike24Should we wait and see if Pick6 is going to participate this year? He hasn't posted in here yet, but who knows if he's seen the thread. Anyone PM him?
-
Laley23
Oh ok. I thought we had our 12. Yeah, we should try to see.Azubuike24;1661697 wrote:Should we wait and see if Pick6 is going to participate this year? He hasn't posted in here yet, but who knows if he's seen the thread. Anyone PM him?
I just like to know where I am drafting so I dont waste time researching players who I have no chance of getting if I am late in the round... -
Azubuike24I say give him until the end of the week. We could start the draft this weekend, if people were ready.
-
MulvaIf blocks are 1.5, steals should be also.
-
Laley23
Steals are more valuable than blocks, as I stated above. But I have no issue with them being the same. All around, Blocks/Assists/Steals are about on par.Mulva;1661716 wrote:If blocks are 1.5, steals should be also. -
Pick6I'm in and ready to kick some ass unlike last year.
Thanks for saving my spot.

Now that Pick is in, should we add another category or distribute another $40 into this breakdown?Iliketurtles;1661552 wrote:$160 to 1st
$80 to 2nd
$40 to 3rd
$5 to weekly winner
$50 to regular season winner
$25 to MVP
$20 to the highest team total for regular season. -
Azubuike24Just bump it up?
$180 1st
$90 2nd
$50 3rd
$50 reg. season
$25 MVP
$20 highest scorer
$5 weekly ($65 total) -
Laley23Ok, I say we set the order ASAP and start drafting this weekend. I know my schedule is dead when I am not working, but almost impossible to get anything done (outside work) when I am working (4-5 days straight).
-
Azubuike24I'm fine with the 1.5 and 1.5 for blocks and steals too.
Laley, to keep things independent, do you want to generate the draft order, and I'll start a draft thread tomorrow with all of the confirmed rules, schedules, round by round and then once done, input it all into the website. The season starts November 7th, so we should be good for almost 4 full weeks of drafting.
8-hour time limits to start? -
Laley23
Sure, Ill do it now and post the results.Azubuike24;1661894 wrote:I'm fine with the 1.5 and 1.5 for blocks and steals too.
