NCAA 4 team playoff prediction

  • Ironman92
Everyone seems to think about 5 teams have a chance to occupy one for the 4 spots.

Predict the 4 teams....(guessing most can only get 1 or 2 correct

    I'll go....

    FSU
    Oregon
    Michigan St
    Georgia

I have to LOL at last one. That's a 4-loss team. If Bama gets past the next 2, they have a favorable schedule. The SEC West is a complete grind too, so it's risky to pick a team from that side. However, whoever comes out of it, WILL beat the East in the SEC Title game.

    1. Florida State (13-0) (if they don't lose at NCSU, they don't lose).
    2. Oklahoma (12-0) (the easiest schedule of any contender and no conference title game)
    3. Oregon (13-0) (if they win upcoming at UCLA, they run the table)
    4. SEC West Winner (6 of the 7, excluding Arkansas could win it. Nobody in the East is good enough to win out).

    I don't see a 1-loss B1G team getting in over a 2-loss SEC winner. It just won't happen.

I'm pretty sold on the current 4. Bama, Oregon, FSU, and Oklahoma.

The only one im not sold on is Bama. SEC West seems loaded this year. Even Arkansas looks much improved.

SEC is such a hard call for sure

No chance a Big 10 team makes it after getting waxed in Oregon. The conference is such a joke to begin with, and then having the standard bearers embarrased in OOC play is a bridge too far.

The SEC champ, Big 12 champ, Oregon and FSU will be the final 4.

The thread start included MSU in his 4.

Reading comprehension is difficult I know but you should at least consider trying.

    My mistake. I'll fuck off.

You know Mich St can't make it but can't decide on who will win the Big 12 or SEC?

The Big 10 has absolutely no credibility nationally. They are 5th of the 5 big conferences, so by default their champion will be the one left out.

    Ok thanks.

I'll go with Alabama, only because they get Auburn and the SEC-CG at home to end the year. Even if they have a loss (or even 2), they will likely control their own destiny and have 2 highly ranked wins at the very end of the season.

Because of weak schedules, I see Oregon, OU and FSU being the top 3 only because I can see all of them going unbeaten.

    1. Ohio State
    2. FSU
    3. Oklahoma
    4. ND

Ohio State beats ND 56-7 but the game will be in doubt until late 3rd quarter and Kelly will get a 10 year extension.
    Oklahoma will beat FSU.

    Ohio State 2014 Champs.

Tell me oh wise Sleeper how both ND and FSU get into the play-off when they play each other? One of them will lose (...ND!) and then they are out. If somehow that game goes 3 OTs and the final score is 7 - 0 maybe the committee boots 'em both but I doubt it. Unfortunately Clemson was realistically the nation's last chance to not see FHRITP Winston in the play-offs.

    OK
    FSU
    OR
    AL

Because after losing to a powder puff team in Vtech, the only two remaining goals are to win the B1G championship and beat the living hell out of ND in a bowl game.

    1. Oklahoma
    2. Stanford
    3. FSU
    4a. SEC Champ
4b. B1G champ if SEC champ has 2 losses

I swear to god, if the loser of the SEC championship has one loss, and they get in, I'll be pissed. In order to be in the playoff, you MUST win your conference championship!

I agree with this. For those that say "Well the SEC has 10 teams better than any other team in every conference so 5 losses is like 0 losses in the SEC", that's your own choice to be in the SEC. Do you want the money for being affiliated with the conference or do you want to win championships?

The reality is, most SEC teams are mediocre without the SEC brand attached to them. Mizzou and A&M were mediocre B12 programs until they started cake walking through the SEC.

I have no issue with multiple conference reps, as the best 4 need to be in there regardless of if they were the best among an arbitrary grouping of 14(ish) teams that only exists to make it easier to schedule and travel (as that's really all a conference is)

That being said, I have no faith in getting an unbiased group of humans to properly determine that either.
  • Azubuike24
I don't see the SEC CG loser being unbeaten going in. The more plausible scenario that will cause some debate will be an SEC West team (Auburn) winning the conference title with an 11-2 record, but wins over 7 top 25 teams. Does Auburn with wins over K-State, LSU, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Georgia and the SEC East winner get a top 4 spot with 2 losses (assuming losses at Miss. State and at Alabama)?

Obviously that results sheet can go many ways as the SEC West has six teams in the top 17 right now...
  • sleeper
7 top 25 teams based on what? The SEC starts every year off with a stupid amount of teams ranked in the top 25 and just swap rankings throughout the entire year. It's a joke.

Six teams in the top 17 is also a joke.
