NCAA 4 team playoff prediction

But look at all the quality wins the SEC west has put together.
They have dominated UAB, Southern Miss, South Alabama, and the regional Louisiana schools.

Six teams in the top 17 is also a joke.
You get that benefit of the doubt when you win national championships on the consistent basis the SEC does.

The Big 10 has 1.5 national championships in the past like 25 years. That is why the SEC gets the benefit of the doubt and the Big 10 doesn't.

National titles buy your conference credibility.

I'm just going by the rankings. This isn't a debate of whether the rankings are rock solid fair. It's very possible an SEC champ could have that type of resume.

Conferences don't win titles, teams do. Apparently this is a concept lost on the general public.

And this year, justifiably, the overall strength of the SEC (specifically, the West) might hurt them when it comes to a 4-team playoff.

People aren't seeing it, but given the schedules, there is a decent chance Oregon, Florida State and Oklahoma go undefeated.

Predict the 4 teams....(guessing most can only get 1 or 2 correct

    I'll go....

    FSU
    Oregon
    Michigan St
    Georgia
I think this is pretty spot on, but I think the media stigma against the Big Ten will hurt MSU and help a team from the Big XII (Oklahoma?) sneak into the Playoffs, and while I do think Georgia is the best team in the SEC, I tend to think Azubuike is right in that it's the SEC West winner who makes it and not the Easy -- unless the West all beats up on each other which is very possible.

As much as it pains me to say it... unfortunately this is true.

The SEC West has Alabama and a bunch of scrubs. Fucking Miss St just pounded LSU and Missouri just got shit stomped by Indiana. Come on man.

Missouri is in the East. I'd say the West has 6 of the top 8 in the conference. Not sure about Ole Miss and Miss. State, but Alabama, Auburn and Texas A&M are all legit.

I love how you classify wins/losses based on how you feel about the team. It is legitimately entertaining.

Not sure your point? Arkansas? Terrible. Ole Miss? Garbage. Miss State? So what they beat a terrible LSU team. I'll give you Auburn and Alabama based on their recent success, but A&M? The only thing A&M has done in the past 15 years is send an overrated QB to the NFL with a Heisman, join the SEC, and almost lose to Duke in a bowl game. DUKE. A&M is trash; Indiana would beat them too.

This actually went from a decent discussion with you about the topic to the same old. Oh well. A&M has been pretty impressive thus far, BTW.

It was never a decent discussion. The SEC is overrated every year and apparently it takes an education outside the deep south to understand why.
  • thavoice
The real argument is going to be which 1 loss teams will be selected.
  • Ironman92
Oregon behind the 8 ball a bit
  • Midstate01
I have no idea why Oregon tried to run it so much in the 2nd half. Especially in 2nd and longs. They put themselves in bad spots the whole second half and let Arizona blitz that terrible oline.
  • Ironman92
Obvious upsets are obvious EVERY year.

MANY more to come for sure.

Ole Miss and Miss St.....who could've imagined how big of a game that might be.

well my list is officially in the shitter lol. crazy day!
  • Azubuike24
    Oregon/UCLA
    Auburn/Mississippi State
    Ole Miss/Texas A&M
    TCU/Baylor
    USC/Arizona

More contenders will go down next week.

Conceivably, every one of this week's "unbeaten survivors" who knocked off top 6 teams, could lose the week after doing so. That would push those teams they beat this week, right back into the driver's seat.

    Where is the Oregon/UCLA game?

    TCU/Baylor?
  • Azubuike24
    Home teams on the right.
  • Ironman92
    I think Oregon takes it
  • Azubuike24
Well UCLA may just lose tonight.

Lol...just saw that score, thought they were off this week

Saw some writer on twitter (forget who it was) saying that if either OSU or MSU run the table, they will be in the playoff. I can see MSU. OSU is currently 20th. Havent broken it down, but I see them probably landing somewhere between 13-15 after all the upsets. They have one big game left vs MSU. If they win that, they are playing Nebaska or Wisconsin in the B1G championship. Chances are they will be lowly ranked or not ranked at all. Nebraska will slip up and Wisconsin just lost to 3-2 Northwestern...I dont see how they can make up that much room with that schedule left, but crazier things have happened.

Lets hope for a lot of losing. The SEC teams taking turns taking each other out will be fun to watch.
