Duke was leading the nation in 3-PT% in mid-February at a 42% clip. Things went down hill after that. That is why I said "most of the season."wildcats20;1594529 wrote:Um...they weren't even top 15 in the regular season in 3-PT%. -
wildcats20Not top 5 in 3's made a game either.

Seeding is overrated.dlazz;1594534 wrote:False. The UD/OSU one was easy to predict
OSU was a 6-point favorite.
Duke was a 13-point favorite and the game was in Raleigh, NC.
History says the 5/12, 6/11, 7/10 and 8/9 games are usually pretty even. When a 2 or 3 loses in round 1, that's definitely a huge upset. -

Haha. Was just trying to break up a long post.wildcats20;1594531 wrote:lol nice edit Rec. -
wildcats20So their percentage drastically drops in the last month and half of the season and you are OK with them continuing to chuck them?

Just stop. -

Both upsets, so technically lol.dlazz;1594543 wrote:Guess I'm still right then, huh?
Just saying. Overall brackets had Mercer picked in about 3%. Dayton was closer to 20%. -

I posted it on Sunday and reminded you yesterday, haha. EKU wasn't a team I'd want to see as a top 4 seed. Same with Mercer. And Lafayette. Still need a lot to go right to pull an upset, but they definitely passed the eye test at times when I saw them this year.SportsAndLady;1594544 wrote:I have a feeling I'm going to see this Cozzy guy in my nightmares tonight -

That's surprising about Mercer.Azubuike24;1594546 wrote:Overall brackets had Mercer picked in about 3%. Dayton was closer to 20%.
Both upsets, but both easy to see, relatively speaking. Also both tough to pick because neither Duke nor OSU had the most difficult path to the Elite 8. So you're sitting there saying these guys could lose in R1, or go on a pretty deep run. How do you choose? -
MulvaDumb 4th foul on Long, but ULL within 2.
-
Laley23I think 37 is about 15 more then their average, isnt it?
37 3s is a ton. Maybe they did it before the tourney a few times, but I didnt see it. I dont recall a team shoot nearly 40 3s unless it was in full desperation mode. -

Did you watch OSU this year? They had virtually no shot of making a deep run. -

I agree that picking Dayton over Ohio State was an easy pick, but anything higher than a 12 seed isn't really an upset IMO. Two of this year's 12 seeds are from the ACC and SEC for crissakes.dlazz;1594543 wrote:Guess I'm still right then, huh?
Out of all the 14 or lower seeds, Mercer was the easiest upset to nail. Excluding 2010, Duke has been a nightmare in the first round for the last six or seven years. -
wildcats20
But they were top 5 in % in FEBRUARY.Laley23;1594551 wrote:I think 37 is about 15 more then their average, isnt it?

wildcats20So Lafayette is playing some ball now.
-
Azubuike24McDermott too passive. Everyone else is tightening up and missing shots.
-
Terry_TateI'm so upset I didn't take ULL over Creighton in any of my brackets and took David Brown over Elfrid Payton. Not my best year.

Have you looked at their bracket? Not very good/consistent this year, but the talent & tournament experience to put something together. I said they were about as likely to lose R1 as they were to make the Elite 8.wildcats20;1594552 wrote:They had virtually no shot of making a deep run. -

Duke shot more than 30+ threes on four occasions this year, including 36 at Syracuse, in what was a tight game throughout.Laley23;1594551 wrote:I think 37 is about 15 more then their average, isnt it?

That 2001 Duke team I mentioned with Battier, Boozer and Dunleavy attempted 28 threes per game and routinely shot 30+, including launching 38 triples in three different games.
This is what Duke does. -

Yeah I almost wanted to take ULL in mine but just couldn't do it. And I even did draft Payton .Terry_Tate;1594558 wrote:I'm so upset I didn't take ULL over Creighton in any of my brackets and took David Brown over Elfrid Payton. Not my best year. -
Terry_TateKansas is about to go down. I can't believe this.

SportsAndLadyIf only there was a Duke thread to talk about Duke's 2013-2014 team...........
