MARCH MADNESS 2014 - NCAA Tourney Thread
-
Manhattan BuckeyeYeah, as much as i would love to see the upset, I don't see Mercer keeping this up.
-
Azubuike24I disagree. Duke struggles to get consistent defensive stops and Mercer is a good offensive team. In fact, one of the best offensive teams in the tournament. The key is going to be does Duke remain cold. If the Devils shoot anywhere near their average in the second half, it won't stay close.
Think about it though. Mercer is as good or better than Florida Gulf Coast was last year. It's not out of the realm of possibility they make a run. -
friendfromlowryJust woke up and turned on the games. Wouldn't be the NCAA tournament without Duke in serious threat of losing in the first round.
-
Azubuike24There is a huge call for Mercer too. Parker with 3 fouls. While Duke has many capable players, their offensive potency shuts way down when he's out...

Duke is shooting 38% from 3? Lol that's their season averageAzubuike24;1594274 wrote:I disagree. Duke struggles to get consistent defensive stops and Mercer is a good offensive team. Midstate01Duke is playing like a paniced team on defense. Gambling more than I remember them doing most of the year. Playing some of that Louisville defense just grabbing and slapping everyone.
-
dlazzI think Mercer cools off and they lose, but Dook looks exactly how I expected. I usually anticipate the barrage of 3's in the sweet sixteen, not now.
Interesting to see if they keep chucking them or not. -
Manhattan BuckeyeThis is going to be a crazy ending, Mercer still hanging tough.
-
wildcats20That ball clearly went off Dook. Good lord.
-
Midstate01Here come the calls for duke...
-
birddog23Yes we know. Duke gets all the calls
-
birddog23Problem is I saw 3 times yesterday where they REVIEWED who touched it last on out of bounds and they still got it wrong.
-
Classyposter58Boy Duke was gifted those two calls. But Mercer also isn't shooting lights out, they've had easy looks all game!
-
wildcats20LOL
Sulaimon just falls down. Foul. There was NO contact. -
wildcats20Dookies getting almost all of the 50/50 balls in the 2nd half.
-
Classyposter58Unless Mercer really shits the bed this is theirs to lose. Duke cannot get anything offensively in the paint at all
-
Crimson streakWhy the hell is mercer in this stupid zone they can't rebound out if it it defend the 3
-

They're in the game aren't they? Let Duke keep shooting.Crimson streak;1594293 wrote:Why the hell is mercer in this stupid zone they can't rebound out if it it defend the 3 -
friendfromlowryDuke might as well keep shooting three pointers. Nothing inside the three point line is falling for them anyways.
-

We're getting to the point where any missed shot in the paint will automatically be called a foul because they're Duke, so there is some incentive to driving.friendfromlowry;1594295 wrote:Duke might as well keep shooting three pointers. dlazzDuke has now attempted 30 threes on 50 FG attempts
-
wildcats20Stanford up 18-4 about 6 minutes in against New Mexico.
-
wildcats2020-4
-
Azubuike24Duke is shooting under 40% from the floor overall. Obviously their higher than normal three percentage is why they are in it. Cook and Suliamon are out of their minds...and Duke is barely winning.

MulvaHood is playing a terrible game.
