Who are the #1 and #2 seeds as of today?
-
Ironman92#1....Cuse, Zona, Florida, ??? Kansas/Nova
#2....Kansas/Nova, Duke,
??? Cincy, Mich St, Michigan, SDSU, Wichita St, Iowa St -
Laley231. Syracuse (1 overall), Florida, Wichita St., Arizona
2. Michigan St., Kansas, SDSU, Villanova
I think Kansas will knock someone out if they win the B12 with minimal damage. #1 conference and top OOC schedule. -

Oh....I think it will all chane a bit....just wondered who was in those positions now.Laley23;1578409 wrote:1. Syracuse (1 overall), Florida, Wichita St., Arizona

How are the RPI's of these teams? -

Ironman92I look for SDSU to be about #14 or #15 in RPI....not sure they'd get a 2 seed
-
Laley23If SDSU wins out though...it's a good enough conference that they will get bumps in rpi cause of wins and it won't be hurt because of SOS. Not sure it will be high enough to be a 2 seed, but I'd expect them to win out or come close where as everyone else on there has a few more loses (talking the 2 seeds)
-
Azubuike24I don't see the SEC winner getting a 1, unless Florida just dominates. If Florida or Kentucky ends SEC play with 3 or less losses, then maybe. Right now...
1 - Syracuse, Wichita State, Arizona, Florida
2 - Kansas, Michigan State, San Diego State, Duke/Louisville
I see Michigan losing at least 5-6 B1G games. -
Ironman92Lunardi has
1's Syracuse, Arizona , Florida, Wich St
2's Villanova, Kansas as the top 2's -

It's good....I asked everyone who they thought were deserving of the #1's and #2's as of last week and everyone just kept projecting to who was going to be those for the tourney.vball10set;1581359 wrote:Sorry, didn't look at the post date-thanks. -
reclegend22Michigan State is out of the running for a number one seed after today (Spartans have lost 4 of 7), and Kansas and San Diego State have also dropped out of the race in the past couple of weeks. After a second drubbing by Creighton, Nova would probably need to run the table for a shot at one.
Unless something out of the ordinary occurs, the top seeds are going to be Florida, Syracuse, Arizona and Wichita State. The first three are all but sealed IMO (unless something drastic happens to one of the first three teams). -

It's college basketball....something unlikely will likely happen.reclegend22;1581455 wrote:Michigan State is out of the running for a number one seed after today (Spartans have lost 4 of 7), and Kansas and San Diego State have also dropped out of the race in the past couple of weeks. Typically I would agree with that, but Syracuse currently sits at 25-0, Wichita State 27-0, Florida 23-2 and Arizona 23-2. Those teams have created quite a bit of separation from everyone else at this point. With the resumes they've built to date, Syracuse, Florida and Arizona would really have to fall off the map (e.g. lose 3 or 4 more games or something) to drop off the one line. That's not an impossible scenario, especially for a team like Arizona trying to re-invent itself after a significant injury, but the chances of that are pretty miniscule, in my view. Although, who knows.Ironman92;1581482 wrote:It's college basketball....something unlikely will likely happen.
Since I do agree that something we didn't anticipate will probably happen (it usually does), my guess is that Wichita loses in its conference tournament, leaving room for someone like Louisville, Duke, Saint Louis, Nova or maybe even Kansas (if they ran the table) to sneak in. -
reclegend22Also, with as much distance as there presently is between the top four (Syracuse, Florida, Arizona and Wichita) and everyone else, that distance will likely only increase or remain close to unchanged moving forward, as everyone in the running is likely to lose at least once more before the tournament begins. So, while a team such as Duke or Louisville might be on the doorstep right now, both are probable cases to lose again. Duke will have at least 7 losses prior to Selection Sunday, effectively eliminating them from any contention.
So, I think the top four have a pretty big advantage right now. -
Tiernan3 must see games this week - Duke vs UNC, Duke vs Syr and Lou vs Cin. All of these games could have seed ramifications.
-
reclegend22The Cincy-Louisville game is especially big. The winner of that matchup puts itself in great position moving forward for a number two seed (and possibly an outside chance at a one seed if things work in their favor and they finish strong).
At worst, I think the winner of the AAC gets a three seed, not a 4 or 5 like Joe Lunardi says. -
Laley23I'd expect Louisville to destroy Cinci. But who knows.

Yes, at Louisville as well.Ironman92;1581628 wrote:Didn't UC already beat Louisville -
TiernanCinci is coming on strong and their big front combined with better than average guards are going to be tough in the Tourney. I'm picking Bearcats over Cards in this one.
