The Next Tim Tebow?

sleeperHe'll probably have to go to ND if he wants to get overhyped like he did at Florida.

I'll take the Rose bowl over playing a depleted 6-6 WAC team in the Hawaii bowl.karen lotz wrote: Yup, because Pryor has exceeded the expectations of bucknutz such as yourself -

You'd better pray OSU wins the Rose Bowl, the backlash from your big mouth will be monumental.sleeper wrote:

Maybe in Ohio yes, but not in the nation. -
darbypitcher22definately not in the nation... you don't hear nearly as much about him as you hear about other kids

Was he not the number 1 recruit in the country his senior year? I doubt his being 9th in the Big Ten in passing efficiency was anywhere near what was expected of him...HighRoller74 wrote:

ytownfootballLOL...as a sophomore playing on a 10-2 team? With a couple nagging injuries that have limited his usage?
Overhyped certainly.
Over rated? Can't claim anything based on what we've seen yet, at least I won't. -
darbypitcher22Another kid?
Jacory Harris from Miami certainly fits the bill.... sure he's thrown for a lot of yards but he's turned the ball over a lot, and I don't really count Florida State as a key win. He beat Georgia Tech(albeit @ home in Week 2), that's about it -

Huh? Everytime OSU is mentioned on ESPN they bring up Pryor, even with his lack of production. You can't spin this one, he was the number one recruit coming out of high school and received ridiculous amounts of press during his decision process. For God's sake, he was the pre-season Big 10 player of the year or are you just going to forget that? Yeah, he gets no "pub" what so ever.:rolleyes:darbypitcher22 wrote: definately not in the nation... you don't hear nearly as much about him as you hear about other kids -

He was supposed to be the 2nd coming, and he simply was not. I believe he won a total of 15 games, in his 3 seasons at ND.
Pryor has won 18, in a little under 2 seasons.
Hate on Pryor all you like but he's winning games, and that's what you're supposed do, by any means nessicary. Sure he hasn't dominated, but he's winning, and like Herm Edwards said, that ways you play the game. But Cheering for Notre Dame, you probably wouldn't know much about winning here recently, so Stats are all you have to live on. -

Come on ytown, I would never see you as one to use an excuse. BTW, those injuries really effected his throwing motion.:rolleyes:ytownfootball wrote: LOL...as a sophomore playing on a 10-2 team? With a couple nagging injuries that have limited his usage?

I'm not hating on Pryor what so ever, just presenting the facts. The kid was suppose to be the greatest thing since "hot sliced bread", and frankly he's not a very good QB.HighRoller74 wrote:

I'm not hating on Pryor, I'm saying he was the number one recruit in the country. Are you telling me that to this point, what he has done at OSU has equaled what most bucknutz claimed he would?HighRoller74 wrote:

I agree he's been overhyped. MOST of it he brought on himself by virtue of how long he took to make his decision. It was a damn circus. Honestly there was nothing he could have done to keep pace with that nonsense he himself basically created.rock_knutne wrote:

No, he's not the sharpest passer, but his lack of mobility late in the season sure as hell limited how much he was asked to throw the ball as evidenced by averaging 200+ on the ground following the last game in October. Hard thing to improve when you're not able to get the throws in. Would he have been better? I don't know (personally doubt theere would have been a lot of improvement) but I can't say there wouldn't have been either.
I don't lump all you "Domers" in one category I'd appreciate the same in return. Are you telling me that to this point, what he has done at OSU has equaled what every bucknut claimed he would? -
Lovejoy1984
His stats haven't been up to what we thought, but he's winning games, and at the end of the day, wins are what matters to me, and should be what matter to every fan. I could care less if Pryor ever dominates but if he continues to win 10 games a season, he's bound to go down as one of the greatest Buckeyes ever.karen lotz wrote:

I pose the same Question to you about your boy Clausen.
Are you happy that he put up good stats, but only mustered 15 wins in 3 years? -

I can only assume you are referring to Holtz. He said it was possible, that IF they could finish the season with 1 loss, Notre Dame could make it into the MNC game.....LOLOLOLOL go to the cross country forum and discuss the newest running shoesccrunner609 wrote: Yeah and ND was predicted to be in a BCS game.......LOLOLOL go somewhere else. -
sportswizuhrdDarby...Harris was more of a favor of the month than anything. He was a 4 star recruit according to rivals.com and ranked 206th in their top 250. Coming into the season he had 2 starts under his belt and one of them was the bowl game that they lost (Emerald to Cal).

Although at times it hasn't been pretty, he's a 2 year starter with 2 conference championships and 2 BCS Bowl berths under his belt. You can bet there will be more of those to come in the future. When it's all said an done, he'll be tops in OSU history in total yards, TD's, wins, rush yards by a QB, etc. The only thing he might miss out on in his career is a NC appearance/win....but get real here, those are very hard to come by. A lot of great QB's, and teams for that matter, never made it to the NC.karen lotz wrote:

Am I happy that the team wasn't more successful why he was there? Absolutely not. I am happy for him that he showed quite a bit of maturity over his time at ND and developed into a potential top 5 NFL draft pick.HighRoller74 wrote: His stats haven't been up to what we thought, but he's winning games, and at the end of the day, wins are what matters to me, and should be what matter to every fan. You honestly think if Pryor continues at his current production level he will go down as one of the greatest Buckeyes ever?? Come on now. I'd say a lot of the wins have come as a result of the team around him and in spite of him.
