    Usually don't watch these things but I've heard Jim Tressel and MoC are going to be feature so I'll probably watch it.

    My best guess it will mostly be involved with the 'scandals' and not about how good of a coach Tressel was.

    I saw the commercial for it in ESPN and that's the vibe I got.

    It's strange that the last time an Ohio State coach has won B1G COY was Earl Bruce in 1979. Even though Tressel won the B1G 7 out of 10 seasons and a national title. Cooper could have even won a COY in a few of the seasons he was coach. It's a conspiracy I tell ya!

    And last year O'Brien from PSU wins it over Urban? Complete bull.

Former OSU athletic director Andy Geiger, for instance, is cast as a villain out to get Clarett, without mention if Geiger was contacted for comment. And in a review copy of the documentary, deceptive editing threatens to undermine the credibility of the work.
    Among the examples: The score on the ABC broadcast is changed to make it seem as if Clarett — not Maurice Hall — scored the game-winning touchdown in the 2002 OSU-Michigan game; a celebratory shot from after the 2011 Sugar Bowl is passed off as the ’02 national title celebration — current safety C.J. Barnett and former linebacker Etienne Sabino are in the foreground; and two quotes taken out of context.
    As the film builds up to Clarett’s hyped first game in 2002, Tressel is shown talking to reporters.
    “It will be exciting because everyone’s been talking about him so much,” he said. “He’s a great kid. He’s trained hard. He’s nervous like any freshman. I’m sure he didn’t sleep last night. I’m anxious to see him out there. We’ve got 103 other guys out there if you want to talk about them.”
    Problem was, the scene was from 2008, when Tressel spoke about Terrelle Pryor’s debut. Yet those with a soft spot for comeback stories will enjoy the film.

    Jim Tressel is anything but a fraud. He's one of the best men that has ever lead a college program IMO and that's based on MUCH more than what happened on the field. He is the kind of guy who needs to be working with a lot of these college athletes.

    Can't wait to see this.

    I have to agree with this. I still think Tressel is a stand up guy. Did he deserve to lose his job? Yes. Is he still a good person? Yes.

    Agree with this. Also, I'm still not convinced that Tress didn't just fall on the sword for the university.

    You do know that he is one of the founders of Promise Keepers the crazy Christian Fundamentalist Men are to be served by Women organization...right Sleeper?     Show a referecne to Tressel being a "founder" of Promise Keepers. Not that it woudl change my opinion of him, but I don't buy your claim.

    Tressel is a great guy. He errored for reasons that I believe were well-meaning. He paid the price for his mistake and he was completely thrown under the bus by Gordon Gee. I have nothing personaly against Urban Meyer. I think he's a good coach and seems to be a good man. However I have never held Ohio State football in the same regard since they did what they did to Tressel.

    They both went live on Fox sports radio this afternoon. Clarett changed my opinion of him. He came across as very credible in his reliance on Tressel for all of his poor decisions and mistakes and how unfair it was to the Coach. His claims of now realizing that Tressel cared about him as a person was greater than him as a football player and he's now better for it.

    I was very impressed with Clarett and his personal accountability.

    COLUMBUS — ESPN is making late adjustments to a documentary on the rise, fall, and redemption of former Ohio State star Maurice Clarett ahead of its premiere Saturday night after the network discovered what it called inappropriate "creative liberties."
    Youngstown Boys, which examines the intertwined journeys of ex-Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel and Clarett, will debut at 9 p.m. Saturday after the Heisman Trophy ceremony. It is part of ESPN’s acclaimed 30 for 30 series and the latest work of award-winning brothers Jeff and Michael Zimbalist (The Two Escobars).

    A review copy of the documentary made available to reporters — and the version shown at the film's premiere in Columbus on Thursday night — featured several instances of deceptive editing. The score on an ABC broadcast from 2002, for instance, is changed to make it seem as if Clarett — not Maurice Hall — scored the game-winning touchdown in the OSU-Michigan game that season while quotes are taken out of context. There are two examples in which file footage of Tressel speaking of quarterback Terrelle Pryor — another hyped freshman who arrived in Columbus in 2008 — are passed off as about Clarett.
    “ '30 for 30' is a filmmaker-driven series," an ESPN spokesperson told The Blade in an email. "Some creative liberties were taken by the storytellers that ESPN Films did not feel were appropriate and we’ve been adjusting Youngstown Boys accordingly prior to its television premiere.”
