Discover Orange Bowl: (12) Clemson def. (7) Ohio State, 40-35

They used the wrong word in the headline. Some of the BCS SCHOOLS are having problems. The teams are just fine. tOSU will have 40,000 fans in the stands cheering them on.

Secondary market tickets are basically always higher, especially for programs with fan bases like OSU. I paid 300+ for my mid level corner endzone seat to the rose bowl in 2010. Was the allotment price 400? 450?

You have a weak argument and you know it. It's simple economics. Or are OSU fans smarter than all of the other schools who sold much more of their allotment?
Its not a weak argument. Its the truth.

The article quoted in believers link
That's not to say Ohio State fans won't be showing up in droves, but it may mean that fans are circumventing the school in search of better seats on the secondary market. The tickets being sold by Ohio State range between $90 and $240 while fans can easily find seats on Stubhub for half that price.
Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith told the Blade that the bowl allotments are “a hard business model that we keep fighting.”

Yeah screw that, my tickets are $240 a piece (through the athletic department), if I wanted to buy one as a student it was going to be $120 for the $20 yard line. Screw that.

Spence didn't travel with the team due to "personal issues"

Yea, kinda strange. Doesn't seem like he's in trouble though, and Meyer hopes he will play Friday.

What kind of "personal issues" prevent a 20 yr old kid on missing out on what should be a great reward for your hard work and dedication during the regular season? If its a family death or illness that would be reported. This smells fishy to me.

This is troubling. As bad as this defense has looked, they can't afford to lose a player like Spence. Lets hope he makes it back and everything is ok.

He missed the team flight, does that mean he can't take another flight?

...and this was alluded to earlier, but it's worth repeating...
A probable secondary lineup for Ohio State on Friday is (Vonn) Bell at nickel, Tyvis Powell at free safety, C.J. Barnett at strong safety and cornerbacks Bradley Roby and Doran Grant. The odd man out in that scenario becomes Pitt Brown, who could be used in dime packages.

More on ticket buying (or lack thereof)...

...many fans are going against what has long been the norm. The biggest deterrent in buying tickets directly from the two universities is the burgeoning secondary market.More than 11,000 tickets were available on TiqIQ.com Saturday afternoon. The stadium’s capacity is 80,120. The cheapest tickets sold for just $6. Club seats can be fetched for as little as $75 and a sought-after seat on the 50-yard line will set you back $179, almost $50 less than face value.
“We’re trying to compete with the third-party marketplace and brainstorm ideas on how we can do that. The factors we had a hard time competing with were price, so the two things we can offer that the third party couldn’t are [even lower prices] and amenities,” Galbraith said.

    "Whatevs"? Yeah, it's definitely Lima

The Roby and Grant injuries are definitely of the "no fkn way am I taking a chance on re-injuring myself before the combines" variety. The closer we get to kick-off the more I see this game being a complete disaster for the Bucks.
  • Automatik
So if Roby sits, then we have Armani Reeves out there dealing with Watkins.

    That's fucking swell.
