Sure I'd like Ohio State to win and I'll definitely watch, but for whatever reason it won't bother me if the Buckeyes lose this game.
I suppose I'm still stunned and pissed that Ohio State - after taking a beating in the sports media all season about being overrated - had a golden opportunity to prove the skeptics wrong but blew it. I'm kind of thinking let's just get this season in the books and see which team pisses on Ohio State's 2014 parade.
Similar feelings could be why these tickets aren't selling...just a guess. -

Apparently OSU has been one of the major players in fighting the allotment system for quite a while. Essentially if you accept a bowl bid, the bowl MAKES the school buy x number of tickets at a certain price. For a normal game like the Orange bowl, the markup between the bowl and the school can be upwards of 20%.

I'm sure that's a factor but Ohio State fans generally travel well and shell out the dough. I still think it's because the Orange Bowl is a let down THIS year and nobody cares. I dont think it's an orange bowl letdown at all. OSU hasn't been to the orange bowl on 36 years. The school tickets are $120 ea and the tickets are going for $50 on stubhub. and why are they cheaper on the secondary market? Because there isn't much demand. I agree with Believer. Tickets for the Rose Bowl are going for $300 and up. Up to $1000 for the NC. Would Buckeye fans have purchased all of their allotted tickets by now for those 2 games if Ohio State had earned a bid to either one of those games? Probably.

Stanford only sold their allotment because MSU fans cheated. NCG tickets are not a good comparison because that game gets a lot of purchases from corporations and so on. A lot like the Super Bowl. -

The secondary market tickets are cheaper because there isn't much demand. They mark the allotment up..cool. Secondary market tickets are basically always higher, especially for programs with fan bases like OSU. I paid 300+ for my mid level corner endzone seat to the rose bowl in 2010. I don't have a point really, just found it very odd that a program like OSU has sold a bad % of their allotment.
