I guess they are good outside of the SEC too ;) FTR Missouri was starting to peak with some very solid seasons toward the end of its Big 12 era, and A&M started out top 10 (maybe top 5) in its last season with the Big 12 and caught a lot of close losses (including one to Arkansas), before adding the Heisman trophy winner.
-Auburn, a team that finished 0-8 in the SEC in 2012, was strong enough to take a 21-3 lead into the waning moments of the National Championship first half before Florida State pulled a fake punt and later needed a kickoff return.
-South Carolina crushed Clemson (the same Clemson who beat Ohio State) and also beat Wisconsin in their bowl.
-The mediocre LSU beat Iowa, while the mighty Gophers from Minnesota lost to the lowly Orange from Syracuse.
-It took 5 turnovers, 2 unforced, for Oklahoma to upset Alabama.

The SEC is strong fellas. Just gotta live with it. Doesn't mean teams from other conferences can't be good as well- as FSU proved tonight.
I told myself last night that I was going to respond but I just can't help it.

LOL if you think Duke was really the #2 team in the ACC just because they made the ACC Championship Game.

As for the rest never thought I'd see an ND fan be an SEC dick lover as well. Pretty funny seeing you try and justify that conference and those teams by saying "O well this SEC team beat that team who also beat that team" or well this team needed this, this, and this just to beat the SEC team!

I guess when ND has 1 relevant season in the last 20 years you gotta hop on someones bandwagon.

Sorry for bringing rational discussion. I never thought I'd see the Big 10 have so much dick envy and be so bitter about it.

And someone said "no shit", but I feel it wasn't as obvious. Seems everyone wanted to mentioned the A&M and Missouri stuff.

Lol I dislike the Big 10 just as much as the SEC so please try again with your "dick envy" comment. I've actually defended the SEC on here quite a bit. But this year they weren't as good as years past and it was just funny reading your post defending them.

Wasn't referring to you. And I'd like the Irish to beat an SEC school in NC Game just as much as the next guy. Historically (and even over the last 20 years) we have had some success against them. Can't say that means anything at the current moment. Also, I gave FSU their credit in my post too.

Ah sorry I figured since you quoted my post you were saying I also had "dick envy."

Sure you gave FSU credit at the end but in the bulk of your post you made it seem like they had to get a "lucky" on 2 special teams plays to win.

More as using a team like FSU, who crushed everyone during the season, as a measuring stick than to downplay FSU's success. The fact that Auburn had a 21-3 lead on a team as good as FSU in the NC game a year after going 0-8 in the SEC speaks volumes.

    Not really.

Welp, since it appears I've angered mostly posters that I like I will let this die.
  • Automatik
    Anger free here!

Just implying that last year is just that....last year.
  • Iliketurtles
Yeah I'm not angry just disagree with some of the stuff you said :). But I'll let it die as well since we've pretty much explained our thoughts.
