TiernanMizzoo and Auburn coaches screaming bloody murder on ESPN about how "unfair" it will be if the winner of their game is not rewarded with a shot at the NCG.

redstreak oneSomeone explain to me how South Carolina, who has lost to Georgia and Tennessee (signature wins Mizz) still is ranked 8th with 10-2 record? 4 of their wins were by 10 or less to Vandy, UCF, Kentucky and Florida! Missouri's schedule is no better, they faced Georgia and Florida early while they were still overrated and ranked. LSU is down, so Auburn and Alabama are the only 2 SEC schools IMO that have face some decent teams and won, and they have faltered themselves with Auburn losing to LSU.
The SEC 2013 isn't what it was the last few seasons. -
stlouiedipalmaRemember, the sole purpose of the BCS bowls is to MAKE MONEY. A big criteria for who they replace teams with will be how many tickets the school can sell. The B1G may be down from a competitive standpoint, but both Michigan St. and Ohio St. travel well. I can easily see the loser of the B1G Championship getting a BCS bowl invitation.

TiernanAuburn AD is now calling it a "disservice to CFB" if OSU goes over a 1 loss SEC team. The NCAA should fine this asshole, if the damn admins don't support the idiotic system they created, why should the gen pop?

A disservice? lol Who in the hell besides Auburn fans, wants to watch Auburn in a title game? Please. They lost to a 3 loss team, and needed two miracles to win games. Tougher schedule? Yes. But you still lost to a mediocre team!Tiernan;1546814 wrote:Auburn AD is now calling it a "disservice to CFB" if OSU goes over a 1 loss SEC team. That mediocre team is also ranked higher in the BCS than your team's best win. Can't be too mediocre can they? Call it SEC lovefest or whatever you want to call it but its also the same rankings that currently have OSU in the title game. Can't be that bad of a formula, can it?centralbucksfan;1546817 wrote:A disservice? lol Who in the hell besides Auburn fans, wants to watch Auburn in a title game? Please. Oh the rankings are great; OSU is #2 and is headed to the NCG. How's that feel? LOLsportswizuhrd;1546824 wrote:That mediocre team is also ranked higher in the BCS than your team's best win. Really not sure why you brought the BCS into this. And the BCS really doesn't mean much to anyone outside of the top teams who are fighting for a spot in the title game. Again, Auburn LOST a game. Thats the bottom line. Like it or not, thats the reality of it. If their hick pres wants to piss and moan about it, then let him. If his team hadn't lost, then they would have got in. Like it or not, the BCS works itself out by seasons end. If going undefeated is so easy, then a lot of teams would do it. There are MANY more teams out there with mediocre schedules who haven't done it.sportswizuhrd;1546824 wrote:That mediocre team is also ranked higher in the BCS than your team's best win. Good post! Tell me how does a team Mizzou above average in the big 12 suddenly become powerful in the SEC? Same with Texas A&M? Well they don't it is a media creation Mizzou would have lost 2 to 3 games in the B1G.redstreak one;1546555 wrote:Someone explain to me how South Carolina, who has lost to Georgia and Tennessee (signature wins Mizz) still is ranked 8th with 10-2 record? 4 of their wins were by 10 or less to Vandy, UCF, Kentucky and Florida! redstreak oneSome years the SEC deserves the over inflated preseason rankings, this isn't one of them and that is creating this log jam! The SEC west is not very good, the east is riding Alabamas coat tails from the last 4 years and only Alabama deserves to get the benefit of the doubt, not the whole SEC, and definitely NOT the WEST!
The SEC starts 2 or 3 teams high each year, then those who don't start high, get the SEC super jump in the polls ability or the other SEC super power, not slipping down the polls ability and you have teams who are on the outside looking in and those in power whining they deserve it more than an undefeated team.
The SEC/ESPN have a monopoly on this formula and suck every dollar and poll into it! lol -

Here is a bit of advice, before trashing the best conference in CFB you should at least find out who is in each division before looking like a fool.redstreak one;1547298 wrote:Some years the SEC deserves the over inflated preseason rankings, this isn't one of them and that is creating this log jam! You are right, my arguments hold no merit because I switched east with west! Bashing the best conference, yes because this year they are riding Alabamas coat tails, Alabama and Auburn in the WEST are very good, but the EAST is not! Glad you pointed that out, wouldnt want to look like a fool!Rotinaj;1547341 wrote:Here is a bit of advice, before trashing the best conference in CFB you should at least find out who is in each division before looking like a fool. -

So why don't you go ahead and tell me which SEC teams are so vastly overrated and who should be ahead of them. Im also curious if you've watched 1 second of Missouri all season.redstreak one;1547346 wrote:You are right, my arguments hold no merit because I switched east with west! Most seasons the SEC is not over rated.Rotinaj;1547355 wrote:So why don't you go ahead and tell me which SEC teams are so vastly overrated and who should be ahead of them. Im also curious if you've watched 1 second of Missouri all season.
This season Alabama is not over rated. I still believe they are the best team in the country but got upset by their biggest rival, it happens (nearly happened to OSU this week).
Most of the rest of the SEC this season is overrated.
It is amazing how Missouri was year in and year out an average Big 12 school, they switch to the SEC and magically they are the "best". If a couple years ago they had decided to go Big Ten instead (that was an honest choice at the time), the media would have this exact same damn team ranked 15th, you know it, I know it.
The division that Mizzou is in is NOT good, South Carolina, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. That division is extremely weak. OSU and FSU easily walk through that division undefeated but yet we are supposed to praise Mizzou for a one loss season, to South Carolina for crying out loud, in that division? Give me a break, they are a 10th ranked team at best.
Now, the west is a different story. Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and TAM are all good teams. I think FSU and OSU lose 1 game each in that division, but not 3 or 4 like ESPiN is talking about.
After watching the whole football season, I would honestly rank the top 3 teams based on how good they are and not their current record is Alabama, FSU, and OSU, in that order.
FSU and OSU are both better than Auburn and Mizzou. Auburn won a big time rivalry game and that is where all the hype is, they have not been great all year.
Assuming FSU and OSU win their conferences this week there is no reason anyone should pass them, period. -
robj55The SEC is the only conference where teams beat up on each other guys.

AutomatikMizzou.... Average Big 12 squad, to SEC POWER in 2 years!
-
vball10set
It's amazing how no one on the national level is talking about this, isn't it? If Mizzou did this in the B1G, we'd be hearing how weak the conference is because a mid-level Big 12 came in and dominated...unreal.jmog;1547385 wrote:

redstreak one8/31 Murray St ended 6-6 in the OVC, Mizz was in the others receiving votes coaches poll with 1.
9/7 Toledo ended at 7-5 in MAC, won 38-23, dropped from the others receiving votes in usa coaches poll.
9/21 @Indiana ended at 5-7 BIG, won 45-28, back into the usa coaches poll others receiving with 2 on week 4 standings.
9/28 Arkansas St. ended at 7-5 Sun Belt won 41-19, 86 votes in others on usa coaches poll week 6.
10/5 @ Vandy 8-4 SEC won 51-28, 86 votes in others recevingin week 7.
10/12 @ Georgia 8-4 SEC won 41-26, JUMP to 14th in usa coaches poll! ***************** They are barely on the radar preseason, slowly climb in the others receiving votes category, beat a OVER inflated Georgia team and BAM 14th! They jump 12 spots, no other team above or below them jumped even close to that high, +6 was the next highest. There is where the SEC bias comes in.
10/19 Florida 4-8 SEC, won 36-17, jumped 7 spots to #7 in usa coaches poll. Only Auburn jumped more spots with 9, Baylor also jumped 7 spots. 7 spots for beating Florida.
10/26 South Carolina, 10-2 SEC, Lost 27-24 dropped 3 spots to 10. Texas Tech loses to Oklahoma and drops 8 spots.
11/2 Tenn, 5-7 SEC, Won 31-3. Up 1 to 9 spot usa coaches poll, Mich St. jumps 5, all others 1.
11/9 Kentucky 2-10 SEC, Won 48-17. Up 1 to #8, all others 2 or 3 jumps with win.
11/23 Ole Miss 7-5 SEC, Won 24-10. Stay at 8, due to Auburn meteoric rise from the bottom! lol
11/30 Tex A&M 8-4 SEC, Won 28-21. Jump 2 to #6
Auburn doesnt hit the usa coaches poll until week 4 on 9/15 in others receving. Week 6 still in same slot. Week 9 they are 17. Week 10 they are 11.
That is why I dont like preseason voting! The SEC is by and large the BEST conference in college football. I wont deny that. My argument is that they receive over inflated preseason rankings, coupled with a meteoric rise by those not voted on as they replace those over inflated earlier picks, see Florida and LSU.
Dont have rankings until week 4 or 5 and then lets see where everyone stacks up.
And yes I have watched Mizz play, they are a very good team, but they are not world beaters like Alabama has been the last 4 years. -
centralbucksfan
Are they really THE best? Close game with A&M. Were LUCKY to get past a sub .500 Miss St. team as well. They didn't exactly steam roll teams like FSU did. Their overall schedule wasn't some gauntlet either when it was all said and done.jmog;1547385 wrote:Most seasons the SEC is not over rated.

Not taking anything away from them. They are obviously ONE of the best. The best? I think that is very debatable. -
