    Hey, there were plenty of UM fans that a few years ago were claiming MSU was their real rival.

    I don't think people realize how much hatred there is between the 2 schools. OSU/Mich is #1 for sure, but MSU/Mich isn't far behind as far as the state of Michigan is concerned.

    The state of the matchups affects that for sure. You didn't hear much about MSU/Mich before because Michigan owned them. Now MSU has had some success, so the rivalry is fueled. In the OSU/Mich rivalry, OSU has ruled, so less fuel there from the Michigan side.

    Went to Michigan on a vacation a few months back. The bar we went to to watch Osu play all the people in there were Michigan St fans and hated Michigan as much as we did. They did not share the same hate towards OSU that a michigan fan has. It was weird that we all were rooting for michigan to lose. Giving them high five after michigan lost was pretty cool.
