    Nope, I have stuck behind shannon scott as well and have continued to say he will be a good player. Like that he's being a distributor.

    Scott's had 3 years to be a good player, and it's yet to happen. I hope he breaks out this year, but I doubt his skill level has elevated that much. Luckily he will be surrounded by talent, and lets be honest, that's really what it comes down to for guys like Scott and Craft. Scott's a good passer in transition, but he can't finish, and he can't shoot. I don't see him being better than Craft running the half-court offense.

    I think Scott has been overshadowed by Craft while he was here. If Scott was truly running the offense the last two seasons, I think we'd all be raving about him. He's a true pass first PG, and I love it.

    I'm not sure any pass first PG could succeed with the offense OSU had last year. I think they're both guys that have to be the 4th or 5th offensive option like Craft was when he had his best years as a Freshman and Sophomore. Scott had quite a few opportunities to make big plays last year and failed(I remember a missed layup to either win or tie a game). I just hope he is ready for the big moments this year!! I want him to be as good as you guys say he is!

    Yeah it was against MSU. However, he had a good game, otherwise (9pts, 6 rebs, 5 assists, 3 steals, 4-6 shooting).

    First of all, I am no expert nor claim to be one. Secondly, I say this having seen the kid play a number of times, NOT just ONE TIME, then making some ridiculous claim as you just did. He is a quality young man who works extemely hard at the game, this I do know as a fact. You will see in time just how good the kid is. But yes, he is just a freshman, and is still learning and growing and will have an off game here and there.

    Scott will be fine this year because, as mentioned, he has some shooters and more pure talent around him. That, and he is not playing in the shadow of Craft. Has he improved? Absolutely. Is he great? No, not at all. But he is a good solid pt guard who plays extremely hard. His shot is what it is. He is streaky and I expect more of the same this year. THis year, he just needs to be a leader on and off the floor. Bottom line is, this entire senior class, although solid, hasn't lived up to the expectations coming out of high school. Most were highly recruited players who were just not as good as most thought they were. But with the added young talent, this could be a very good team in time.

    Scott has had to share PG duties with Aaron Craft for 2 years so he's not really been playing the role he's best in, so of course he wasn't going to look that great. Without the ball in his hands he's almost useless on offense, so I think this year being the full time PG he's going to be able to show everyone what he's capable of. He's never going to be a 12+ PPG player, that's just not his style, but 8-10 PPG with 7 APG is very possible.

    I really do not understand how Craft and Scott are that bad at shooting. I remember playing Craft in high school and although he dominated us there was one time he popped off a three and hit the damn pad under the backboard to the right of the hoop. Just mind boggling how a guy who starts for OSU has the shooting skills of a 7th grader

    Watched Craft all throughout high school. He was a very good shooter in high school. So no idea what you're talking about.

    Something happened when he got to tOSU though. Developed a hitch in his shot and he never came close to his high school shooting percentages.

    Having all the time in the world to shoot against Pandora-Gilboa probably contributed to Aaron's higher 3-point percentage in high school. That hitch he developed may have resulted from the necessity to quicken his release, but perhaps not. Just a theory.

    I called a couple of his games for WFOB while in college and can attest that Craft was in fact a good high school shooter. He definitely sucked in college, though.

    No offense, but going from HS to big time college basketball where your margin of error is very small, is a significant difference. Shooting the basketball starts at very early age as we all know. Its extremely difficult to change something that was used for many many years. Unless its a minor adjustment, its hard to change someone's shot once they get to high school. And trying to do so, can often result in something worse.

    Russell seems a little rushed a lot of the times and seems like he's off balance almost a lot too. But, when he gets it going he is unreal. He's a really good player.

    Last night was fun to watch. Yeah, they're playing utter shit opponents (Buckeye CLASSIC, my ass), but you have to be pretty good to beat anyone by 58 points. Gives a real reason to look forward to next week when they get Louisville. That ought to be a hell of a game.

    I think the announcers said it was a knee. In the context of if this was a real game against a real team, he could have played; but since it was a nobody opponent, there was no need to do anything other than rest him so he's healthier down the line.

    Yea, they said Matta advised him to sit out to rest his knee. I like the aggressiveness that McDonald has shown early this season. He's been the best big so far.

    I agree although Williams has been pretty decent as well. Lee has been the biggest disappointed through 3 games. I really expected much, much more out of him. The ability is there, just hope the light bulb comes on. The guy was a 14pt/9 rb player at Temple last season.
