2013-14 OC College Basketball Fantasy Draft Thread

  • Azubuike24
The other thread we can use for all other discussions. This will just be for the draft. No pick limits, but I'd like to get the season started by November 12th, which is the first major night for televised/early season big games. Just a reminder...

Players must be from the Big East, Big Ten, Atlantic Ten, Big 12, Mountain West, Pac 12, ACC, SEC, AAC, Missouri Valley, Conference USA and West Coast Conference. 1 WILD CARD player may be taken from another conference.

Official lineups will be all 12 players, positions based on ESPN's roster pages and each team must draft at least 2 players listed as a C, 4 as a F and 4 as a G.

    Scoring will be weekly and based on this...TOTAL=(POINTS x 1)+(REBOUNDS x 1.25)+(ASSISTS x 1.5)+(BLOCKS x 2)+(STEALS x 2)-(TURNOVERS x 1).

Yeah, I can't believe you picked a walk-on with your first pick.

Lol. (For those unaware, McDermott is officially a walk-on this season, as he gave his scholarship to Grant Gibbs, ironman02's favorite basketball player, who was granted an extra year of eligibility this year for Creighton.)

Taking your only "wild card" player this early is a bold, bold move...
  • Azubuike24
Well, LMU is in the WCC. So, technically not...
  • Azubuike24
CCRunner, per PM, takes G Rasheed Sulaimon, Duke.

Haha yeah I had 3 players all in my head that weren't in the major conferences... put them on here then checked and they had graduated so I had to edit my post like 4 times after realizing each time the guy I put on here had graduated. I was saying "fuck me" as well.

Not gonna lie, I saw your post about the dude from Iona and knew he wasn't there anymore, but I really wanted Russ Smith so I just posted my Smith pick...that way, if you edited your post and took Smith, I could claim him lol I'm a dick

Lol no way man.. it was smart. I made my pick then PM'd you haha. Was really just hoping no one saw my fails :(.

Sulaimon wouldn't have been my first pick, but he very well could be an All-American level talent this year. He's arguably one of the most overall-rounded players in the country. A beast offensively and defensively. He'll be explosive as hell. Since Duke has so much depth, though, I'm not sure his stats will fully reflect that. But that's a good thing for the Devils.
  • Laley23
He could be an AA, and he still wont have numbers to be taking this high, imo. He would have to average close to 20, 5, 5...

To be honest, I'm just upset you got him. It's obviously a good pick. I was just hoping he'd drop to the second round, which is where I was planning on possibly nabbing him.
  • Azubuike24
Terry Tate. Not sure. BTW CC, this draft is probably going to take a few weeks. It's expected. However, we should be able to rally some picks as pretty much everyone has been here today.
  • Terry_Tate
Sorry fellas, had our company trip to Nashville the past 3 days and finally have gotten home on the couch. Done some research so here's a long shot.

    Tyler Haws - BYU
  • Azubuike24
He went 6th in my other draft. Would've been my pick too, outside of Smart or McDermott. Haha, best pick available, IMO.
  • Terry_Tate
Nice. I've never heard of him but saw that the dude fills it up so figured why not. Literally spent 5 minutes looking at players too and figured it wouldn't get much better than him so said screw it. My biggest fear was that he's out with an injury or something but I didn't see anything like that.

Yep, another one has been scratched off my "must have" list. Damn. Haws is the real thing. He'll probably lead the country in scoring this year, or be in the running. Crazy that Dave Rose has picked up another scoring talent like this in such a short period of time.
  • Azubuike24
Always wild games in the WCC too. 5 of the top 50 scoring teams in the WCC last year.
