2013-14 OC College Basketball Fantasy Draft Thread

    I think that is better.

Maybe take player averages for during championship week and not their totals? I dunno. It just doesnt seem fair to have a guy lose because their players team goes out RD 1. It isnt a fantasy league about teams, its solely player production...so it shouldnt matter if their team blows or not.

Wizuhrd told me he wouldnt be up till like 130pm today, cause he didnt work last night. I sent him a FB message though, so hopefully he makes his pick right when he wakes up.

In the first week or so of the season, dont you have to factor in that some teams are in special tournaments and some are not? Could run into basically the same problem as the conf championship week.

Great pick thought of taking him instead of Dickerson figured maybe he would fall lol.

Yeah, but not as much you can do about that. Its a lot worse when the championship for all the money is decided because someones WC went to the finals and someone elses lost 1st round.

Im shocked he lasted as long as he did, actually.

O I agree I was just hoping he'd continue to fall back to me lol.
  • Azubuike24
The special tournaments thing is something people just need to account for. Unlike pro sports, not everyone plays the same number of games. Some teams will schedule 28, others will play 31. I guess that's something to factor in, but I'd also guess it will even out over the course of such a variety of teams/conferences.
  • Laley23
Same way teams will have finals at different times during December/January. Not anything that you can do about pre-conf tourneys. We can avoid the championship week though.
  • Mulva
There are so many preseason events now that probably 2/3 teams are involved in one. At least from the power conferences.
  • Laley23
    Wizurhd takes Traveon Graham, VCU
  • Mulva
I like the no conference tourneys idea too.

i think ending the season 3/1 will be before any conference tournaments, and 3/8 would be before the major conference tournaments.
  • Azubuike24
Okay, so excluding the main week of championship week. Assuming we start Nov. 11th and end with the last week starting March 3rd, that gives us 17 weeks total.

How does a 15-week regular season, 1 week for the semifinals and 1 week for the finals sound?

We could also do 14-week regular season, 1 week for the semifinals and 2 weeks for the finals (which will allow for more games overall and lessen the impact of a few conferences having their tournaments this week)?

Finally, we could do 14-week regular season and 1 week for the semifinals and 1 week for the finals, which would end concluding March 2nd (and not include any conference tournies).
  • Laley23
I like the 14 week Reg Season.

I could go either way with a 2 week finals or ending before any tournaments.
  • Iliketurtles
I like 14 weeks and the 2 weeks for finals.

Also Laley you should have never said you were gonna take your WC with one of your next 2 picks... hopefully I don't take the guy you want haha.

    I said "probably" lol.

I'd personally vote for 14, 1 and 2. This allows all of the players not in the MVC/WCC to get 4 games in those final 2 weeks, which will likely be crucial too. The WCC/MVC teams could potentially get 5 or 6 depending on how far they go in conference tournies, or could get only 3 if they go out in round 1. It should even it out enough that it's inconsequential though.
  • Azubuike24
Graham is a very underrated pick. Reddic obviously is their main big man and can rebound/block shots. My only concern with VCU is they play the 40-minutes of hell style and are going to be 10-11 deep. Nobody on their team has played over like 29 MPG the last 3 years.
