Yep. Question Becomes what round you take yours in?Azubuike24;1520232 wrote:What's interesting is going to be the wild card picks. There are some serious stat stuffers out there in small leagues. -
Azubuike24I mean, the stats count all the same. I wouldn't be surprised to see one go pretty soon, top 2 rounds...
-

While true, because there is a limit on 12 being taken, it isn't as critical. You can wait till the end and get someone from a bad conference in your top 10 because you know for sure only 11 can be taken.Azubuike24;1520441 wrote:I mean, the stats count all the same. Not saying one way is wrong or not. Just the facts. The nature of beast is you can find value later with a "wild card" because more will be available later versus "regulars" -
Azubuike24Yeah, I see your point. All depends. The top 3 "wild cards" I have, will significantly lead almost everyone in production though. I haven't really scouted a ton though, just ones I was already intending on looking at.
-
Laley23I mean, I have 4 alone that based on last years averages all will best McDermott. Like I said, it's great value, bit the top 8 guys from there will arguably the top 8 guys overall...so when do you waste a pick knowing each person can only "own" one of those players???
-
Azubuike24Nope. It will be one of those things that when they start going, it will be time to consider. A cat and mouse game until then...
-
Laley23Exactly. Also a reason I hate being at an extreme on the "draft rounds". If they start going after my pick it might be 8 hones before my next selection.

MulvaWell I was too hungover to stray very far from my bed/couch today, so I ended up doing about 4 hours of research. I might be able to avoid completely embarrassing myself now.
-
SportsAndLady4 hours of research? Mercy
Give me some of that. I'm too lazy to do that and am just gonna wing these picks. -
Mulva
A lot of it was just browsing through the conference previews on CBS' site... not all fantasy/player specific stuff.SportsAndLady;1521096 wrote:4 hours of research? Mercy

I'd love to be able to pretty much blow through the rest of my picks now, but with 12 rounds I'm sure I won't be able to make that happen. My list is only about 40-50 guys. -
Laley23I did about 2 hrs, but once those players are gone I'm winging it lol. They will be gone by the end of round 3...
-
Terry_TateI have done zero research, just have one thing I'm doing to find players and we'll see how it works, lol. Will probably just spend 5 minutes a pick, that's about how long it took for my first one.
-
Mulva
I have a feeling that's gonna happen to me too. 20 picks until I'm up again. Half my list will be gone and my work will be for shit.Laley23;1521102 wrote:I did about 2 hrs, but once those players are gone I'm winging it lol. They will be gone by the end of round 3... -
Azubuike24This is what I kind of like about it. Unlike other fantasy sports that have stat references, projections and strategies out the wazoo, there's not much here. I'm basically just going on gut feeling, last year's stats and the opinions of some experts in the sport I trust.
-
IliketurtlesI started to do some stuff but then said fuck it when I realized it was probably going to take like 12+ hours to do what I was planning on.
Pretty much like laley I got a list of some guys but I think after my first 3 picks none of them are going to be left lol.
Right now I'm just trying to look at centers seems like they are about to go fast. -
Azubuike24Just an FYI to people. Check position listings on ESPN for your guys, and let me know if any are G/F or F/C. It can give some flexibility in position picks.
Also, I'm going to send out a Paypal link for the $10. Are we sticking with that? Raising it to $20? What do people want to do. No hurry to decide necessarily.
How do you guys want to handle pick ups and drops? Just keep in mind, it's a lot of manual work and I'll be relying on everyone to post stuff in the weekly thread and make sure everything is set. Me personally, I want to keep it minimal for the year, but also want to factor in for injuries and other things that can happen in college sports. -
Terry_TateWrong thread for my pick.

No kidding, you even posted it in the wrong threadTerry_Tate;1521253 wrote:I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.
Bryce Cotton - Providence -
reclegend22I like the minimal approach to in-season changes, with exceptions for injuries. That sounds fair to me. But maybe a more seasoned fantasy player has a better idea.
Also, I'm down for whatever amount of money. -
reclegend22Cotton is a great pick, IMO. He was on my board. He should challenge Doug McDermott for the scoring crown in the Big East. As good a scorer-in-bunches as there is.
-
Azubuike24How much money on the next pick being a former SI cover boy?
-
Terry_Tate
Haha. This is what happens when you search for your pick on the phone at lunch then try to put it in. I had one other guy I was thinking about but settled on Cotton.Azubuike24;1521254 wrote:No kidding, you even posted it in the wrong thread -

A million dollars. Haha.Azubuike24;1521260 wrote:How much money on the next pick being a former SI cover boy? -
IliketurtlesI think unless a guy is injured then you should be stuck with them but that's just to make it easier to keep up with.
i'd prefer just to keep it at $10. But I'm cool with $20 if that's what the majority wants.
