If you truly believe that. Go on believing that.

But Baylor fixed their flaw (beating a ranked opponent). Stanford can't fix their flaw (losing to Utah). That's why Baylor will jump Stanford... they are undefeated and now have a win over a ranked opponent. When Baylor loses (they will), Stanford will be back on top, so don't worry.

    #4 sits idle
    #5 beats #3
    #6 beats #10

    #6 should jump #5? #5 shouldn't jump #4? Sounds logical.

    Once again.

Baylor's flaw: No wins over ranked opponents (at time of game or anytime there after).

Stanford's flaw: Lost to a 4-4 Utah team.

With both teams having a big flaw, Stanford had the more impressive wins because of their schedule so they were ahead.

Now, 1 team has a big flaw, the other doesn't. So Stanford's wins don't mean as much because the starting point isn't the same.

Just watch what will happen on Sunday. I'm not sure why you're arguing this point so vehemently.

Undefeated should always be ahead of a 1-loss team in a BCS conference. Don't be stupid.

Yet an undefeated Baylor was behind a 1 loss (to Utah nonetheless) Stanford lol.

    We're all ranking experts.

No that's how it should be. The fact that 2-2 loss SEC teams are ahead of a 1-loss Miami team(to the #2 team in the country) is a joke.

I don't agree with *always*. Most of the time yes, but not always.

You can't say "1 flaw vs. 1 flaw". Too many variables. To me, the 93rd best schedule is a big flaw as well. So if you even out the flaws, if you will, Stanford is way ahead of Baylor.

That still pales in comparison to what Manziel has accomplished. Not to mention playing well in meaningful games, making big plays when the "system" breaks down and not playing against conference usa.

As I said, the level of competition is moot, because Houston was a normal C-USA team playing other C-USA teams. It's not like they were a BCS level school with BCS level facilities, money and athletes, playing against C-USA.

And you're kidding that it pales right? Keenum has 2 of the top 5 single season passing yards records, 3 of the top 15.
Keenum had 3 seasons of more total offense (5,241 5,829 5,666) and more total TD (51, 48, 51) than Manziel had as a Heisman winner (5,116 and 47 TD).

Manziel is a better runner, and that is what makes him exciting, but his passing stats are merely a product of the system.
  • pmoney25
Wouldn't anyone's passing stats be product of the system? Anyone that has watched football for more than ten minutes knows that Manziel is more than a system guy. He wins games, makes plays and is a leader on his team. I cannot take you seriously anymore until you come to your senses. I'm not saying he is GOAT, just that he is not a system guy who would be average anywhere else.

Your comment about competition makes no sense. According to your logic, Lebron dominating the NBA is no different than me dominating a game of pickup basketball. That my domination is on par because it's all relative to your resources and people you are playing against.

I never said he would be just average anywhere else. i said that his gaudy passing numbers are nothing but a product of the system he plays in. He's like a 2,500-2,800 yard passer anywhere else.

Except in Football it's much more of a team game than Basketball when it comes to 1 person's performance. The QB has to rely on their offensive line and their skill players in order to be successful. The point is not like your ridiculous example saying that a pickup player is on par with LeBron because.... (which isn't even close to my point, since both are FBS schools with 85 scholarships, but whatever) it's that Sumlin's system can make any QB a record breaking passer.

You really think Manziel would ever play a game at Ohio State over Braxton or Guiton? No.

This, but more specifically why at Eastern? Their problem isn't the coach. Firing him now does nothing at all.

All 2,000 fans that attend each home game can breathe a sigh of relief.

The only thing that would help them is dropping to Division 2 (can't even be 1-AA because their basketball team can't compete at D1 levels either, or draw crowds bigger than about 500)

Don't forget about Texas as well. Sitting at 6-2 now and undefeated in the B12, but they have Oklahoma State and Texas Tech remaining before playing Baylor in Waco.

Baylor could have more quality wins from November 7-December 7 than OSU would have for the entire season.

Brad Edwards says that with Oregon losing, they will slide back and everyone already in the top 5 will move up. That means Stanford stays ahead of Baylor. Go tell him he is wrong.

Stanford's OOC will get the boost of ND's likely 10-2 record when they play on the 30th.
