I was thinking the same thing

He would be an ok hire x and o wise, but he isn't the splash like a James Franklin. He is also a Paterno guy and all it does from an outside perspective is prove BOB's point that the University has no desire to truly change the culture around the football program.

Golden is ok. He's a .500 coach. Franklin would have walked in and been a top 3 coach in the B1G. Not golden, imo.

.500 coach isn't "ok" that's horrible and he'd be fired within 3 years

He's .600 at Miami, but his teams have shown improvement every year. PSU is still rebuilding. I dont see him being more than an 8-4 average guy though at PSU in the long run.

Not sure I agree about Golden being a "great" hire. It would be a good hire imho. And probably the best PSU could do.

My comment had nothing to do with golden

Well he's. 500 but he did turn temple arouns before heading to miami. I think time at miami has been the disappointment. Had better athletes then just about anybody in the acc.

    Rich Rodriguez turned Louisville down.

Apparently, there are many who are wanting to come up with the money to buy out Bobby Petrino at WKU.

Getting desperate. This is like letting the cheating wife back after you caught her sleeping with the neighbor a few times...and supporting her.

    Golden turned down Penn State.

Also, saw a tweet earlier saying Louisville contacted Dook about David Cutcliffe.

I'd think coming off 10-3 and a good showing against A&M, Cutcliffe could do much better.

W/FSU & Auburn scoring TDs, Navy was only team playing not to allow a TD in a bowl this year.

Bobby Petrino accepts offer to return to Louisville.

    LOL.
  • Azubuike24
Petrino went 41-9 at UofL and they finished in the top 10 twice and top 20 3 times.

He'll win there, but the real question is...will he fuck them over sooner than later, AGAIN.

The guy fucked UL over for the Falcons
He fucked the Falcons over for Arkansas
He fucked Arkansas over by banging a football intern
He's back at Louisville...after they lose their coach to Texas and their program at an all-time high

    Hmm.

I'd say that there is a very good chance he will be taking a job at an SEC/Big 12 school within the next 5 years.

“He’s a gutless bastard. Quote that. I don’t give a shit,” Zimmer said Wednesday, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. When Zimmer was told that responsible news organization may not be able to use “bastard,” Zimmer responded: “How about this, gutless MF. You can use that.”

That's the first thing that comes to my mind about Bobby Petrino. Would have never taken him back if I was Louisville, but I can understand why they did it.
  • Azubuike24
Honestly, they have both competition and recruiting momentum. They couldn't afford another Steve Kragthorpe.

I'll guarantee that Petrino is only here to continue the success and that they are already looking for another Charlie Strong in the next 5 years.

Haha that's funny they re-hired a coach, I honestly cannot remember the last time this happened

Bill Snyder at Kansas State. He wasn't fired the first time but left and came back like 4 years ago.

Kiffin's interview with Saban is today.

Let us know how it turns out, Lane
  • Lovejoy1984
Kiffin is a great recruiter, but I though it was established that he cannot coach....like at all.

I'm talking about fired though, I guess I should have phrased it better

    Louisville never fired Petrino
