Yeah it's one thing to be fooled, it's another thing to tell the world this is the love of your life.

Surprised everyone seems to let the university, with Pope pedophile money off the hook. Shameful.

What should ND be on the hook for here?

It's obviously their fault he's stupid enough to fall for this and that he lied.

I would be ashamed should the institution I support, given their lofty moral stance on...well...everything, decided to not stand behind the guy who brought them as far as they think he did (he didn't but they acted as though he was the shit). They did a couple google searches and called it a day, delayed knowledge of the mess until after the title game when they knew Te'o would be no longer their problem but his agents'. They used him and threw him to the dogs. Yeah, he effed up but it appears to be honest retardery (imo). Were it not for past transgressions and "coverups" I wouldn't really think anything of it, but they (ND) could have had this dudes back a little more than what they did imo. He went full 'tard. He didn't break rules, NCAA violations or anything, just stupid. Why wouldn't they just back him as their player as a victim more than a hands off "we're done with his ass" approach?

Just my opinion, but I think ND had an opportunity to be better in this and blew it...bad.

But it wasn't a ND problem. It was a T'eo problem.

Right. Isn't that what the university wants all of us to believe?

Ummmm, because it is? I fail to see how its a ND issue besides "they should have had his back."

The AD came out in full support of Te'o as soon as the story broke. Don't know what else they could have done in your eyes. But then again, they were screwed no matter what with the haters. Say too much and they are trying to cover things up. Don't say enough and they aren't standing behind him.

    Oh well...haters gonna hate.

It's a pattern of deceit given history, so if you choose to ignore it that is your choice or naivete...whatevever.

Or you are just looking for a reason to make it seem like it's somehow ND's fault?

Fault? No. Look bad because of it? Suure.

Not at all. The only one that looks bad is Manti T'eo.

Yea, the had a 30 minute long "press conference"(aka. Te'o love fest), not sure what else they could've done. I mean Swarbrick basically put his reputation on the line for Te'o.

Keep drinkin' the kool aid...seen too much of it to see it differently.

Or...you're just a hater (as some would call it) trying to find a way to pin it on the University. To say ND looks bad in this is absolutely ridiculous. They have nothing to do with it at all. At. All.

Impossible. They just fed him to the wolves.

Timing Chief...timing. Choosing to wait till after the title game does them no favors but hey, whatever. Funny how were the shoe on anothers foot it would matter but adorning the Leprchaned booty it doesn't.

You would make Jim Jones proud lol.

You wanted them to release this information as soon as they were finished with whatever investigation they were doing? So please, tell me what school would say this two days before the NC game?

It's also not ND's story to break...it's Te'o's. Again...if ND said something first you'd be claiming that ND is trying to cover something up and protecting Te'o.

How would you recommend ND handle the situation?

I'm a Wolverine fan. I don't give a rat's ass about the "Leprechaned booty". So yeah, I'm sure Jim Jones would be real proud!

Why would Notre Dame have to say anything about it? They have no involvement in it whatsoever. So I sure as hell wouldn't say anything about it right before the Championship game. That would just be stupid. Yeah, let's cause a huge distraction about something that doesn't involve the school right before they play the biggest game of their life. That would make sense.

Kill T'eo for being retarded obviously.

As soon as they find out they announce they're doing an investigation...regardless of timing. Then...for the love of all things holy...actually fucking investigate. Not a couple google searches, they have pope money, don't give it a half ass, bullshit effort, it's Te'o not some bum recruit. You can't assume that everything will go the way of Sullivan or the rape victims that got swept under the rug (allegedly) if you're going to progressively engage the situation. The way they handled it was entirely indicative of a pattern of deceit, that is well documented...business as usual.

Put the situation on another university and tell me you would veiw it differently
