Until Kelly and his peers have to live by similar restrictions, not good.

After reading this article I'm not surprised...his stock is going through the roof.

You're right, those contracts the coaches sign don't have out clauses with financial penalties if they leave. Vanderdoes signed a contract and ND is holding him to it. He'll have to meet the consequences of the LOI, which is losing a year of eligibility.

Told 247 ND fills all criteria he looks for in a school immediately and location "kind of" puts them on top of other schools that fill all criteria. Wouldn't say they are above LSU or Bama, but his family holds ND in high regard and they will have to reevaluate things. Could visit Monday.

Which aren't worth the paper they're wriiten on, and everyone knows that. ND is screwing a kid for no reason but spite.

Same with Florida State and Matthew Thomas, then right? Coaches from around the country called Kelly and told him not to let EV out of the LOI. But you're right, it is out of spite. I understand the hate for Kelly/Notre Dame, but it doesn't apply in this situation. Maybe you are a Gregg Doyel fanboy.

Good comparison, thanks for the admission that ND screwed this kid.

Huh? Florida State didn't screw Matthew Thomas. I'm sorry that's what you got out of my post.

I'm sorry that you don't understand that they did.

Did he sign a contract with the consequences of breaking it common knowledge? He has the option not to sign a LOI if he feels that's best for him. I also don't remember you bringing up FSU/Thomas a month or so ago when that story came out. Weird.

    Have a nice day.

I guess this kid should just consider himself lucky they didn't kill him, or rape a family member.

Wow. SMH at this. So Vanderdoes deserves NO blame in this situation?

As was said earlier, where were you when FSU did the same thing recently?
  • Midstate01
I have no problem with it because you do it for one guy youll be doing it for a lot of guys.

I do think it's weird though how it seems like in ncaa bball guys are always leaving a school and going closer to home and it seems they dont always lose a year.

That and the fact his reason was shady. Wanted to be closer to home? Yet ucla is 6-7 hours away from home. The whole situation is shady. If he would have went to cal or somewhere close to home I think nd may have let him out of his LOI
  • Midstate01
But to add to mine, usually its with an illness to a family member or something. But sometimes I wonder how true those stories always are.

Notre Dame and Texas are close to signing a 10 year deal. 4 home 4 away 2 neutral sites

Good time to sign texas. They're on the bigtime down swing. But they'll be big draw games.

One in dallas, one in...ny? Chicago?

My guess is Chicago and Dallas stadium more than likely. And it helps gets exposure in Texas for recruiting purposes. With ND joining the acc they will now have games in Florida Texas and California.

Pretty cool. They haven't played since the mid-90's. Texas had James Brown at QB and Priest Holmes at RB if I remember correctly.
  • karen lotz
That's awesome, I figured they'd get something set up but not a ten year deal.

Yeah I saw Doyel getting blasted on Twitter today and tried to get that HLS article to come up but the site was down.

It might have been one if the worse articles I have ever read. How does he have a job?
