    I think this comment on the site following the article sums things up well.

    The bottom line here is people are trying to make conclusions based on data that only Lizzy and the football player knew. Rape should absolutely not be tolerated but from the accounts provided, at worst this sounded like an unwanted fondling. Is that ok? Absolutely not. But it's certainly not the rape that's being insinuated and purported here.

    It's perfectly reasonable to ask questions and to wonder what truly happened. But as we learned with the Duke Lacrosse scandal, it's not ok to make conclusions without having all the information and knowing the truth. And this truth we will never completely know with Lizzy ending her life."

    Unfortunately we will never know what actually happened in this situation and whether we like that or not....we have to accept it. Could the authorities have acted in a more timely manner? Yes. Does the fact that they didn't follow up quicker validate Seeberg's claim and make her allegations true? Absolutely not. It truly is a shame that she took her own life.

    I might be in the minority, but I think the Irish have a pretty good chance to win this game. Their defense was playing pretty well as the season wore on and I've never subscribed to the illusion that SEC schools play good defense. If the Irish can generate some offense I think they win this game.

    As for those who think this amounts to a home game for Alabama, don't forget that ND has a lot of support from all across the country. They'll be represented well in Miami.

    Maybe it's a blessing in disguise that Te'o didn't win the Heisman-now ND doesn't have the "jinx" to contend with.

    Agreed. I don't think te'o should have won it but the honor of being top 3 and being in New York as a lb is great. Honestly couldn't have happened to a better person. He stands for everything college football is suppose to be about.

    Notre Dame jerseys will have the players' names on the back for the BCS Championship game. Pretty cool.

    This made me wonder--did Penn State have their names on the back when they played in bowl games? They may have, but I really can't recall.

    As already mentioned, you made this up.

    But if you were trying to make a reference to the BCS bowls, you would still be wrong. ND didn't start back up the tradition of putting names on the jerseys until the Hawaii bowl. The last time before that was the 1988 Cotton Bowl. So ND has never worn jerseys with names on the back in a BCS bowl game.
