Could the MAC Champion get a BCS bid?

Yeah, or those schools were never going to compete at the top of a real conference week-in, week-out on a yearly basis. EVER.jordo212000;1335475 wrote:Whittingham is being exposed as not being Urban Meyer
TCU lost their starting QB. Respectable first year regarding all the issues they had
The TCU "problem" actually highlights what the difference has always been - depth. TCU is never going to get the recruits to compete with Texas, Oklahoma, etc. regularly. They didn't need that depth to win the low-rent conferences they were in for the last decade because nobody else had them either. Hence, the inflated record and occasional big win for teams like them (and Boise, Utah, etc.). That is why all the stock put into those sporadic upsets was a bunch of nonsense.
What a lot of us have said all along is that those teams wouldn't compete against the weekly grind of a major conference. They haven't and won't....the excuse you make doesn't really matter. -

Well, Wisky was a five-loss team and Louisville is a member of a conference that became the MAC's bitch as the season went on (with both Cincy and Rutgers, who were ranked and near/at the top of it, losing to MAC teams that were inferior to NIU). So there's that.wildcats20;1335205 wrote:Why exactly do Wisky and Louisville NOT belong there? -

While all that is true, they both did what they had to do according to the BCS. Which is exactly what NIU has done. -

Exactly what they had to do according to the BCS. Finish in the top 16 and ahead of an AQ conference champ (actually they finished ahead of two of them).wildcats20;1335512 wrote:While all that is true, they both did what they had to do according to the BCS. Which is exactly what NIU has done. -

I agree with that. I think the initial meaning of the post starting this was essentially, "For you dumb bitches crying about NIU in a BCS bowl, why aren't you complaining about these two teams, too?" Since if someone says one is undeserving, there's no way to justify the other two having a spot.wildcats20;1335512 wrote:While all that is true, they both did what they had to do according to the BCS. Devils AdvocateThe system sucks as it stands because of automatic conference births. The Big east and ACC have been screwing up the bowls from the BCS's inception.
