I hope the Orange Bowl rating are huge to justify this. But the BCS gets what they deserve for setting up suck a fucked up system.

    this

NIU qualified by BCS rules only proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that the current rules are idiotic.

Exactly. They met the criteria set forth, so why bitch about how Oklahoma is better? Regardless of if they lose or if the rule is silly, they did what the BCS says they have to do.

agreed I hope NIU kills FSU. Not gonna happen but I'd love to see it to shut these turds up. I also hope the MAC does what it did in bowl games last year. With the exception of the Orange Bowl I can honestly see the MAC winning most of their bowl games.

Orange Bowl is usually the game everybody skips and it is even more so now. Ratings will be quite low IMO

Not sure I like Ball State against UCF or CMU against Western Kentucky.

I think the MAC goes 4-3.

im actually intrigued by the orange bowl, especially given the state of the rose and sugar bowls. people will be intrigued as the game goes on if niu is able to compete against fsu. no one cares if louisville or wisconsin compete

Except even fewer people care about NIU. I think Rovell said they sold fewer than 17,000 for each home game this yr

    Herbie too
    What did they say?

I hope to god it was something more than NIU doesn't belong in the BCS, because they don't.

Amen. I find it hilarious how many people are getting butt hurt about guys on ESPN telling the truth

    A) Very few people care about MAC football. Look at the attendance at even some of the best schools. At the bottom-tier schools, well, local high-school games draw better.

    B) If NIU beats Florida State, it won't do a whole lot. People will simply say that Florida State had nothing to play for. They really don't. They won the ACC. They won the ACC Title Game. They lost their biggest rivalry against Florida. Win or lose, it's meaningless for the program.

On the other hand, Louisville and Wisconsin have a lot more to play for. Wisconsin has lost two straight Rose Bowl's. They want this one badly, really badly. Louisville, even though they won a BCS Conference, can do a lot to move the program even higher if they could beat Florida.

Wisconsin nor Louisville belong there, either. Louisville wouldnt win the MAC. Probably 3rd place.

Why exactly do Wisky and Louisville NOT belong there?

    Who said they did?

Even so, NIU is losing that game by 20+

They belong just as much as NIU.

Actually you could say they belong more.

The same mythical reason that NIU doesnt?

Truth or not, they met the rule in place. What good does bitching do? They don't bitch like this when the Big East regularly sends an unranked pile of shit with no following to BCS games (read:UCONN), what makes this any different? At least NIU is ranked.

its not really about niu, its more about a mac team knocking off florida state. do i think it happens? no, but i'm more likely to tune in and stay tuned in if it is a close game. my biggest fear with that game is that it turns into georgia/hawaii all over again

First game of the year with a team returning 2 starters, and only lost by 1.
