    What you think web?
I think that is correct. Especially down low. McGary has toughness, but the rest are soft. And even McGary isn't going to play a whole game against a great post team. I do think the youth is being exposed a bit. Hardaway is what the team needs as far as leadership, but it's hard to lead when your play is up and down like a yo-yo.

Yes they beat Ohio, but I thought they would easily win that game.

Someone needs to stand up and lead that team. I hate to say it, but I think their youth is being exposed, I don't say that in a demeaning way, just a fact.
The last time they played Ohio, they were getting their yellow asses bounced from the NCAA tournament.

    Hope this helps.

We could just be like Meyer and make every one do pushups for saying Ohio State. At least Hoke acknowledges the school. :)

Why would he make someone do a pushup for saying Ohio State? I apologize in advance if I missed something here.

Sorry, that may have been confusing.

Meyer makes his guys do pushups when they say Michigan. And Meyer himself won't say it. So, I was saying Michigan could implement that, instead of the Ohio thing. At least saying "Ohio" acknowledges the school, though.

Either way, they both stole the ideas from Woody and Bo.

Gotcha', and I also like how you referenced Woody and Bo, 'cause I've got a feeling we've got another '10 Years War' on our hands.

edit: sorry, got carried away there--I forgot for a moment that this is a basketball thread :o

If hoke did a pushup everytime instead of saying "ohio" he may lose some weight...

Seriously though, how great is B1G basketball this year?

Assuming the brackets work out like the last bracketology I saw... I think we could have 3 FF teams. (OSU, MSU, Indiana) would have been my guess. Yeah, yeah, i know OSU isn't that good, but our bracket was > crap > Marquette (whom I think we match up nicely against) > then Miami who I think is really good, but we have the perfect pieces to beat em.
    >> then Arizona whom I think is overrated.

Not really arguing with you, but I am curious as to why you believe Ohio State "has the perfect pieces" to beat Miami, one of the most verastile teams in the country, with all-conference level players at every position. There is a reason Miami has won 11 in a row since getting back to full strength, throttling Duke and North Carolina and their combined 10 McDonald's All-Americans (five apiece, not including Ryan Kelly). The Hurricanes are a force to be reckoned with.

B1G ain't gettin 3 teams in the final four...that's laughable.

    They'll get 1
  • Hb31187
They could get 2, its happened before. But its still not very likely. Id bank on one, either IU, MSU or UM
  • vball10set
Not only will this be the year that a mid-major wins it all, but it'll also be the first year that a 16 beats a 1.

edit: MSU is in the Final Four yet again, but gets beat by Butler in the semi's ;)

I think one of those predicitions will prove true. I think Butler will win the NCAA championship.

Although, both could happen with the way things are playing out this year. And scares me to death after what I experienced last March.

At work so I was slow to get my first post up, but I see we agree on who will win the national title. Good pick. I think it will happen. Brad Stevens might just be the best tournament coach in the game right now for how well he prepares his teams over a short period of time.

    16 isnt beating a 1 and a mid-major isnt winning the title.
  • Hb31187
Mid Major def isnt winning the title this year. Id predict that Butlers run of the past few years, ends this year rather early

I think Craft would slow Larkin down and lenzelle and thompson could defend scott. I think their bigman is it Kadji (sp) would probably give us a terrible matchup, but assuming now foul trouble I dont think he would kill us like Zeller did. Finally, I didn't see anybody on their team (in the 3-4 times I've watched them) that could stop Thomas.

I don't mean to say they couldnt win, because I think they would obviously be favorites and would probably win 6-7 times out of 10. I just think that compared to the other #1 seeds, Miami would be our best chance at the final 4.

I think Miami might beat duke head to head more often than not, but Duke poses a much bigger problem (with Kelly + their guards) for OSU than Miami does IMO

Yep. But I stand firm with you. A mid-major (likely Butler) could definitely win the whole thing, especially this year. Butler will not beat themselves in the NCAAs. They will have to be beaten by a better team, and I do not see any teams out there that are clearly superior to the Bulldogs in a winner-take-all matchup. A game in the NCAA Tournament is totally different than a game in the middle of January. There are teams that are just better prepared in a one-and-done situation, with quick turnaround between games. Advantage Butler. Nobody does it better than Brad Stevens. Not in recent memory at least.

We now know that a mid-major can not only reach the final Monday of the season, but they can also come within a last-second shot of trimming the nets. This could be the year that final shot falls. If Duke can't pull it off, I hope Butler does.

I could see a 16 beating a 1 this year. I wouldn't bet on it to happen and like everything else it obviously it depends on matchups, but 4 of the top 5 in RPI right now are Duke + Michigan, who are both very susceptible to upsets due to the style they play (see last year) and Miami + New Mexico, who aren't going to intimidate anybody.

I figured, and I don't blame ya', but who woulda' thought last year that TWO #2's would have gone down to 15's, in the same tournament!!!
  • Laley23
About 75% of the way through the game and Nebraska has yet to record an assist against Indiana. LOL.
  • Laley23
Nebraska gets its first assist (and back to back to boot) with just over 7 minutes to play. 33 minutes of a basketball without an assist. That is incredibly bad offense lol.
