Whew, that was close. Balance has been restored on OC.

A loaded slate of games this week.

Pittsburgh at Louisville and Syracuse at Pittsburgh (huge week for the Panthers to make a claim at the Big East title)
    Wisconsin at Ohio State
Kentucky at Ole Miss and Ole Miss at Florida (huge week for the Rebels to make a claim at the SEC title)
Iowa State at Oklahoma State and Oklahoma State at Kansas (huge week for the Pokes)
    Butler at St. Louis
    Michigan at Indiana
Illinois at Michigan and Wisconsin at Illinois (Illinois HAS to get a split, otherwise, serious trouble)

Some deserved props. Ramon Galloway and LaSalle with a huge week.

The Explorers beat Butler and Virginia Commonwealth, and they don't play either again. They are in a nice position to be the 4th team in the A-10 to get an at-large bid. They will be right there with Temple and St. Louis after these wins. LaSalle also benefited secondarily by Villanova beating Syracuse and Louisville. LaSalle beat Villanova earlier in the season.

The week couldn't have gone any better for a school, IMO.

Had to be a very disappointing week for Shaka Smart. Shortly after getting VCU back in the Top 25 for the first time since the '80s, the Rams lose back-to-back games last week to Richmond and LaSalle.

The Atlantic 10 is a beast of a conference this year.

We could see 9 combined bids from the MWC and A-10. Either could get as many bids as the Pac 12, ACC, SEC or Big XII. Really quality leagues this year.

Why is Cal ok playing a home and home with UNC but not Indiana??? Makes no sense.

Kansas is the new #1 in coaches pool

OSU being the determining factor here? Kansas beat OSU who beat tsun.

You could make a strong case for either Kansas or tsun, but maybe OSU being a common denominator was a factor here?

    edit: tsun #1 in AP

I know Miami did beat a #1 team at the time (Duke). And they didn't just beat them, it was a slaughter. But are they really a top 15 team? They have a loss to Florida Gulf Coast and Indiana State... not exactly world beaters.

I just think they jumped a little too high for 1 win.

Agree....but they destroyed #1, let em have it.

Louisville going down the charts hard after their undeserving (IMO) top billing.

It should be Mich or Kansas...and it is.

They also followed it up with a throttling of Florida State.

They are a very solid team right now.

Steven Adams has a really tall family.

"Okay guys, our school is playing Kansas tonight, what sign should we make for it?...................................'You're not in Kansas anymore'!!! brilliant!!"

I seriously hate brent Musburger...dude has no idea what he is talking about

He just said WVU, when doing well, have one of the best home courts in America. LOL

Yeah he is terrible. He is pretty bad for CFB but CBB he takes it to a whole new level of bad. If I was making a list of best home courts I don't think WVU would be in the top 25.

KU in trouble in Morgantown? They're playing absolutely pathetic against an absolutely pathetic team.
  • Ironman92
It's still a good road win.....because it is a win.
  • Iliketurtles
Kansas survives :P. Got pretty close for a bit but KU pulled out the W.
  • SportsAndLady
Win's a win..but jesus, they struggle offensively sometimes. WVU literally could not make a shot for minutes at a time in the 1st half and KU's offense just let them hang around.

7-1 since Reggie Johnson has come back healthy. Yes, they are a top 15 team right now.

He's only been back 2 games, so it's impressive that they are 7-1 in those two games!

But in reality, I didn't realize they were missing a player that was of importance. However, he was playing when they lost to Florida Gulf Coast. But then again, that was the second game of the season and the team could have improved.

I just don't think 1 win merits an 11 spot jump when a team has two bad losses on a teams resume and we're well into the season so big jumps/falls should only be happening as a result of a couple of really impressive wins (thinking consecutive wins over top 10 teams or conversely losing 3 games in a row such as Louisville).

The NC State game is coming up for Miami and that will be an important game for both teams trying to prove they belong in the top 15.

Either way, it's not a big deal, just something I saw in the poll and thought was interesting.

Well,he was good to play, then out, then healthy, injured and now back again. HE is really important to their success. 2 blowouts in a row show that. Im not sure who you would put above them after the last 2 weeks of shitfests from the top 25 teams lol. That has more to do with the giant jump then anything, imo.
  • Laley23
Also, Im not sure, but Miami was without some players early if I am not mistaken. I think Duran Scott (best player) missed the Gulf Coast game.

Not sure if Miami has lost yet, with a full squad. But I might be wrong.
