ND got a gift right there. Guess the officials are tired of being in the rain.

    This. His elbow hit ground.

    Man, what a game!

    Go Irish!
  • Tiger2003
Irish must have ate their Lucky Charms.

If it is close, which it was, the call goes to what was called on the field. Since it was not a TD, that is what they went it.
That is the nature of the game.

The early ass whistle cost Stanford a shot there. Given the replay it would have been hard to overturn either way, but had they lt the play go its actual distance the refs would have possibly called it a TD.

I still think the RBs right elbow may have hit before he reached over, but it would have at least been called no TD for a proper reason.

4th down. Don't think you can recover a ball fumbled forward on 4th down but I don't think he got in anyways.

Eh, rushing the field when you're the higher ranked team (and the other team already has a loss)?

I guess it must have just been because of the excitement of the game.

16 quarters without a TD given up by the defense. Incredible.

Yup, not enough evidence to get overturned. Sucks for Stanford...they got jobbed.

A lot of emotion. I guess irrelevant teams get a pass in this situation. ;-)

    Damn replacement refs.

I don't think it was down before the tip of the ball crossed the very tip of the plain, but I would have taken the Notre Dame defense in OT anyway. Too bad we'll never know.

Ehh, not jobbed. Block better and get a better push and it is a non-issue.

Still, a pretty fun game to watch.
    Nice for ND.

    Haha.

Serious question... Rees has delivered with some late game heroics to bail out ND. This dual QB system seems to be working, but would the late game heroics be necessary if Rees was in the whole time?

    I thought so too.

Too close to overturn either way it was called.

The PI call was a complete joke.

As you said, it's working out thus far so I can't complain too much. Golson was hurt so not much choice tonight. I would just stick with the current setup at this point.

Reminds me of OSU in 1996, with Jackson and Germaine. Both worked, it was just how and when you bring the other guy in.
  • End of Line
Stanford was hosed. First, the god awful PI call and then this bullshit.

  • Midstate01
Nd got some serious calls in the last 4 minutes.
