What a dog baby of a game.

The trip up to East Lansing in two weeks is going to be a mess if they do not dramatically improve.
Thank God they are playing UAB next.

Individually Simon is great. Williams is a stud when he plays. But collectively I haven't been to impressed yet this year

Was gashed by Cal's RBs today and up until today they were not getting pressure on opposing offenses.

Cal got over 500 yards of offense. That is unacceptable.
OSU simply stayed in the locker room after the half, only to finally wake up in the 4th.

This team needs to seriously destroy UAB next week to regain their confidence.

3-0. That's want you want, period. This is a team that was below average that's learning a new season. They played against a top hal Pac10 team. I'm glad they stepped up when they needed to. They get one more week to improve, then they play one of the best their conference can showcase. They need to control the ball, tackle better, and communicate better. When they get beat, they beat BEAT which shows me it's more communication. You can't turn the ball over in under 50pt games like they'll have against MSU. They must tackle and keep 3yrds being just that and not more.

Their playcalling shows that they're not yet confident in the LB'ers making the tackling at first hit. They're playing a bit soft, and you see why. Tackling was the biggest issue today. Some of these guys MAY be breaking bad practice habits they've had for a few years. They will need a healthy Hyde and Hall to escape MSU. I don't think they can win without those two being healthy. Healthy, and productive are two different things. I expect an under 50pt game. MSU at least has to practice for a healthy 1-2 punch. If not, they will eat OSU up and make Braxton grow up real quick. He isn't there yet by any means.

Today is my girlfriend's birthday. Got home from the beach to see most of the 2nd half. Great game. She made me a sammich during the 4th qtr.

Actually it's exactly what happened. Miller went outside and that guy took 3 steps back towards miller. The receiver went downfield

Whoever said the crowd was quiet, I guess the tv mics don't pick up much crowd noise, but that was probably the best un-ranked non-conference noon crowd I have ever experienced

Can someone explain why there was so much chatter about the holding call that brought the Cal TD back being a bad call? Strictly live at the game, it clearly looked like the Cal player was holding the OSU DB (forget who it was) and he couldn't turn around.

    I thought it was holding.

The 3rd quarter was pretty miserable. Everyone around us seemed to just be getting hot, bored and disgruntled

Saw this on the Ohio State website. Shazier with the shot to the QB.

    Yep.

The heat and the Buckeye defense really ruined my day

Another week of our defense refusing to wrap up and make tackles.

It didn't look like holding to me. His hands were inside, and the DB just couldn't shake him.

FWIW, Chris Spielman thought it looked like a clean block. Like him or hate him, he actually gives pretty accurate analysis on X's and O's type stuff.
