Why SEC Isn't As Great In Football As You Think

Easier conference. Picking random dates is irrelevant.Rotinaj;1252136 wrote:Florida has the most wins in the NCAA since 1990. Just a fun fact.
Ohio State has more wins, more national titles, more conference titles, more Heisman winners, more BCS bowl wins, more All-Americans, and more NFL players. Florida is nothing in the world of college football. They don't even crack the top 10 much less the top 25. -

Notre dame has more wins, more national titles, more all Americans, more heismans and more nfl players. Can't have it both ways -

I understand, but all I wanted to know is if you, as a Notre Dame fan, thought that ND having a better record than OSU last year was "pitiful". Just curious.Crimson streak;1252133 wrote:I really don't hate osu at all but sleeper makes it hard with his talking out of his ass. The reason they got rid of Tressel wasn't because of ethics it's because they didn't want more severe penalties from the NCAA. You act like Ohio st gave themselves a bowl ban. As for urban Meyer weren't you saying 3 years ago how much of a snake he was but now he's the savior. It's funny how things change -

What will it take for you to admit the SEC is a better conference? Do they have to win the next 5 national championships? 10? Win every bowl game every year?sleeper;1252143 wrote:Easier conference. Picking random dates is irrelevant.

You neglected zero conference titles and zero BCS bowl wins.Crimson streak;1252151 wrote:Notre dame has more wins, more national titles, more all Americans, more heismans and more nfl players. Can't have it both ways -

So the random date that you chose is relevent? Awesome! Enjoy!sleeper;1252156 wrote:You neglected zero conference titles and zero BCS bowl wins. -

The SEC has a long way to go. First, they need to raise their academic standards above the community college level. Then, they need to fire any coach who over signs. Then they need to win more games against the B1G so they can at least tie them in wins. Fourth, they need to win more championships than the B1G(I think they are currently down by 3). I think that would suffice. This will never happen, not now and not ever. The SEC doesn't win with the highest ethics and they never will.Rotinaj;1252155 wrote:What will it take for you to admit the SEC is a better conference? Zero conference titles is all time. BCS bowl wins is all-time as well.Rotinaj;1252158 wrote:So the random date that you chose is relevent? Awesome! Enjoy! -

Like you said you can't just pick a random year -
sleeperAlso ND and Ohio State have the same number of Heisman trophies.
-
sleeperAlso, Ohio State has 42 NFL players and ND only has 27. Your facts are garbage and incomplete.
-
sleeperTrying to rank ND with other schools is almost impossible since they play by their own rules and schedule a powderpuff schedule to get more wins every year. When the win a BCS bowl game or a conference title, then we can put them in the conversation for top 30 all time. Right now I'd put them at 31.

Eh I think most people knew Ohio st wouldn't have a good year after the whole tattoo thing, a new qb, new coach etc. I am enjoying the urban Meyer vs Brian Kelly recruiting battles though. Many nd fans want to stay independent but I would love to join the big 10 in the next 5 years. There would be some pretty good rivalries. -

Fair enough. Most people would like to forget about Troy Smith and what he did to Notre Dame. :thumbup:Crimson streak;1252174 wrote:I wasn't talking current I meant all time. And your right about the heismans I forgot about Troy smith winning for some reason. -

They have the most BCS wins and BCS National Championships. That is one thing they do have going for them. This will not last once Urban gets a chance to compete in the post season. I expect a minimum of 6 titles in his career.Rotinaj;1252175 wrote:The SEC has the most BCS bowl wins and BCS national championships. Enjoy mediocrity! -

No just being unbiased. I can respect what a program like Ohio st has done. -

Honestly yes lol. Ohio state was 10 times more talented than nd that year. Hell we let fat ass Jamarcus Russell throw all over us the following year too -

Not sure if this really needs to be said, but please don't lump all OSU fans in with the likes of sleeper.Crimson streak;1252133 wrote:I really don't hate osu at all but sleeper makes it hard with his talking out of his ass. -

I know but the sad thing is I know quite a few osu fans that are like sleeper. It's probably the fact in a nd fan and they love to talk shit on nd and call them irrelevant but yet constantly bitch about nd and "watch" nd games just to see them lose. Sounds like there irrelevant to me -

You guys were ranked #11 that year when LSU spanked them. By the same score of the UF vs OSU game. JR got fat in the NFL btwCrimson streak;1252183 wrote:Honestly yes lol. Notre Dame prides itself on loses to good teams. They gave Weis, a garbage coach, a 10 year extension for a close loss to USC. :thumbdown:cats gone wild;1252198 wrote:You guys were ranked #11 that year when LSU spanked them. By the same score of the UF vs OSU game. JR got fat in the NFL btw -
