Sorry for nitpicking but the bolded part is unequivocally false. We were god awful last year.ptown_trojans_1;1250235 wrote:
USC schedule last year was not a cakewalk. Did you forget? ASU and Arizona were hovering around the top 25 at that time. -

It would be a travesty, it would be ridiculous to all of a sudden come back and get the feeling back, get the health back, feel good again and then all of a sudden go throw some other colors on my shirt and go coach? I don’t want to do that. I have too much love for this University and these players and for what we’ve built.”[LEFT]

He should have put in there unless its Ohio state or notre dame. Every contract urban has had, have had a buy out clause to notre dame or Ohio state. Why ate you surprised? -

Amazing that UF fans are STILL butthurt over this. It was the perfect storm. He brought you 2 titles. SpeedofsandSo funny that posters here think they know when I'm surprised or butthurt. I just put it up for the fun of it. This is the place for lulz.

sleeperSOS essentially does the same thing I do for Notre Dame threads yet he's allowed to post. I personally don't mind a little criticism and enjoy his contributions; apparently in South Bend the only thing you are allowed to say is that they will win the championship every year and have 5 players up for Heisman nomination.
Notre Dame has the most sensitive fans in the country. Even after they inevitable lose a big time game, you still have to post how they would have won in the 4th quarter if they only didn't give up 3+ TDs, which were all pure luck and a result of bad referee calls. My favorite time of the year is watching ND lose and reading comments from ND Nation which typically start talking about next year after week 1. It's been 20+ years of next years and the results are the same. Zero bowl wins anyone cares about, zero wins anyone cares about, and zero players that ever pan out. Not 1, but zero. -

There's a difference. Ohio State is a championship caliber team who's won more BCS bowls than anyone and has more vacated BCS bowl wins than ND has BCS bowl wins. Criticizing ND is like telling a fat kid that he is fat. Sure, the fat kid might be sensitive about his weight, but that doesn't change the fact that he is fat and that he has as many BCS bowl wins as ND the past 4.7 billion years.FatHobbit;1252024 wrote:I agree with this, but he's only done it 4,657 times and you've done it 12,625 times. -

But yet SOS points out how the sec won the last 6 bcs championships, have more bcs bowl wins than the big 10 because the big 10 isnt relevant anymore and the sec will have more bcs wins than the big 10 will ever have in 800 years. Enjoy mediocracy!
And btw Florida has more bcs national titles than Ohio state. I mean that's all that matters right? -

Ohio State has won more BCS bowl games than Florida. Florida is known as "Flash-in-the-pan-U" because they were good for a few years and then dropped to complete obscurity. Ohio State continues to win, with the highest ethics, in the toughest conference in the country.Crimson streak;1252069 wrote:But yet SOS points out how the sec won the last 6 bcs championships, have more bcs bowl wins than the big 10 because the big 10 isnt relevant anymore and the sec will have more bcs wins than the big 10 will ever have in 800 years. I wouldnt go that far on any of this ^^^. You were under .500 last year and lost to UF. Even ND had a better record than OSU. Thats pitiful.sleeper;1252099 wrote: Ohio State continues to win, with the highest ethics, in the toughest conference in the country. -

That was OSU's worst season ever and still defeated the B1G champion. Ohio State and the NCAA have agreed for the school to remain on the sidelines this year for post season play in order for the school to maintain the highest ethics in the game while winning both on and off the field. Next year, when Ohio State is able to compete for a National Championship, they will be in the hunt. Florida will still be a bottom dweller in the worst division(outside the ACC and Big East) in the country. The SEC East is a joke and everyone knows it. Most of the West is a joke as well.cats gone wild;1252104 wrote:I wouldnt go that far on any of this ^^^. You were under .500 last year and lost to UF. Even ND had a better record than OSU. 2 national titles > 1 national title. And highest ethics? Tressel lied to the NCAA. Great ethics there -

Fortunately titles are only one part of the equation. If titles were the only thing that mattered, we'd have to put Upstairs Medical College of California on the list because they won 100 straight titles from 1650 to 1750.Crimson streak;1252113 wrote:2 national titles > 1 national title. Tressel lied to his superiors in an isolated incident. Once Ohio State, which is always bigger than one person, found out, they released one of the top coaches in the country and self reported all evidence to the NCAA. Because the highest ethics are the top priority at Ohio State, along with building the future leaders of tomorrow today, Ohio State and the NCAA decided that it would be important for the school to refocused on those efforts. Ohio State prides itself not only on winning in the classroom, but also with winning despite adversity and pure hatred from the detractors. I am proud of what The Ohio State University has accomplished, both on and off the field, and look forward to Urban Meyer winning multiple B1G titles, National Titles, and most important beating Michigan to a pulp every November for the rest of his natural life. -

Crimson streakI really don't hate osu at all but sleeper makes it hard with his talking out of his ass. The reason they got rid of Tressel wasn't because of ethics it's because they didn't want more severe penalties from the NCAA. You act like Ohio st gave themselves a bowl ban. As for urban Meyer weren't you saying 3 years ago how much of a snake he was but now he's the savior. It's funny how things change

The reason they got rid of Tressel was due to Tressel not following the code of conduct expected of a coach at The Ohio State University. Nothing more, nothing less.Crimson streak;1252133 wrote:I really don't hate osu at all but sleeper makes it hard with his talking out of his ass. Ohio State did indeed sign off on all punishments as there was no appeal from the University. They believe in the process of adversity and providing their student athletes with real world life lessons, showing that being unethical doesn't pay and never will pay.
Urban Meyer's actions at Florida have nothing to do with his current status as football coach of The Ohio State University. In the contract with Urban he is required to report all activities to the Ohio State administration and since Ohio State is one of the only self reporting institutions in the country, if Urban does something unethical, we all will know about it. At Florida, they do not self report and they do not care about ethics; it is the SEC after alll.
