Because its better to have depth that are 3 stars than walk onspkebker wrote: What is the point of targeting lower ranked players? Why would you want to add depth with players that aren't very good?
Because sometimes those 3 stars turn into AJ Hawk's. -
OldDanTucker^^^exactly not everyone can be like usc and have their 3rd string rb be a 5 star recruit
-
OldDanTucker3 star OLB Davion Rogers commits,IMO a nice steal from WVU.
-
Trueblue23Cass Tech junior CB Delonte Hollowell also committed to Michigan today
-
pkebkerDoes UM have any committments from the class of 2011?
-
Tinkertrain
Common misconception that 3 star player means bad player. What a 3 star ranking basically means is that it's a player that will be a starter with the potential to be an all league caliber player.pkebker wrote: What is the point of targeting lower ranked players? In Michigan's case this year i'm ecstatic with this class given the circumstances of the last two season. This class provides much needed depth and talent to a badly depleted michigan roster. -
Trueblue23Westlake (Ohio) St. Ignatius linebacker Jake Ryan committed to Michigan today.

OldDanTuckerIn the 2011 class they need to get a good RB. I like vincent smith but not sure how he will do coming off of the knee injury.

Demetrius Hart is that guy. I LOVE his game.OldDanTucker wrote: In the 2011 class they need to get a good RB. I like vincent smith but not sure how he will do coming off of the knee injury. -
OldDanTuckerI haven't been following any of the '11 class yet. Any info on him?
-
OldDanTuckerAnyone know whats going on with Terry Talbott? I noticed hes switched his commit to a soft verbal.
-
Trueblue23The Talbott brothers are taking an official visit to UNC, but it will be difficult for the Tar Heels take snag them from Michigan.
-
TinkertrainTerry is visiting and Terrance is not.

According to Rivals, you're wrong.Tinkertrain wrote: Terry is visiting and Terrance is not.
"Heard early this morning that Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne brothers/teammates Terry and Terrence Talbott would be taking official visits to North Carolina this weekend. I have spoken with our Rivals' North Carolina writers who were able to confirm that the Talbotts are expected in with their grandparents this weekend." -
OldDanTuckerJust read on scout that Terry is Terrance is not. They plan to go to school together so not to worried about this.
"This was confirmed on the UNC side by Scoutcom's InsideCarolina, and we reconfirmed it as well.
DL Terry Talbott is visiting North Carolina this weekend.
DB Terrance Talbott is not - he's taking the SAT this weekend" -
TBradyfanCertainly there have been some good points made in regards to recruiting. I wanted to see some numbers for myself see how good or bad recruiting great talent is. I understand there are cases where coaches take 2 and 3 star kids and develop them into better players. I looked at class rankings from 2002-2008 comparing Michigan and West Virginia. I was stunned by the numbers.
2002 Michigan #19 West Virginia #33
2003 Michigan #8 West Virginia #57
2004 Michigan #5 West Viginia #53
2005 Michigan #2 West Virginia #33
2006 Michigan #9 West Virginia #56
2007 Michigan #10 West Virginia #18
2008 Michigan #6 West Virginia #36
RR CAN NOT make a living on taking 2 and 3 star kids and making them better players. If he can't get better kids in there he's not going to be at Michigan much longer!!!
Don't tell me Lloyd couldn't recruit, look at the numbers!! -
OldDanTucker
u need to visit scout.com/rivals.com, subscribe to one of them and see that RR has PLENTY of talent coming in at UM. Not many top athletes would have considered WVU before RR had his success there which is probably why they were ranked so low in those past years and started gaining more success in recruting. As for carr how many of his "top" D recruits in his later years actualy turned out to be worth a damn?TBradyfan wrote: Certainly there have been some good points made in regards to recruiting. Your just as stupid as those idiots on the " We asked for this thread". Michigan is on the verge of another top 10 class after 3-9/5-7 records so dont give me this bullshit.TBradyfan wrote: Certainly there have been some good points made in regards to recruiting.
