Colton Christian, 6-6, F, Soph., Michigan
Matt Glover, 6-4, G, Soph., Penn State

The top name and the bottom name on that list from the b1g kinda shocked me.

    Missouri will reload with transfers.

SR G Keion Bell from Pepperdine, 19 PPG as a Sophomore and Junior
JR F Earnest Ross from Auburn, 13 PPG as a Sophomore
FR G Jabari Brown from Oregon (eligible 2nd semester), 5-star, 19th overall player from 2011 class

    Other notables:

Khem Birch (Pittsburgh), 5-star from 2011 going to UNLV
Rotnei Clarke (Arkansas), former 1st team SEC (twice I believe) going to Butler
Ryan Harrow (NC State), 5-star and #3 PG in class of 2010 to Kentucky
Luke Hancock (George Mason) going to Louisville
Wally Judge (Kansas State) to Rutgers
Aaric Murray (LaSalle) and Juwan Staten (Dayton) to West Virginia
Dalton Pepper (West Virginia) to Temple

I can see Barlow transferring because he was dismissed from the team but Smotrycz surprises me. He was getting plenty of playing time.
  • Prescott

Plus his skill set seemed perfect for Belein's system. Very puzzling.

These are all transfers that are eligible for this next season correct?

    Trey Zeigler, Central Michigan

He's considering Duke, UCLA, and a few others. If Trey Burke goes pro there's a chance Michigan will be in the picture.

Smotrycz was always going to be a role player at Michigan, he must want to go somewhere and be a starter. Really hurts Michigan's bench next year.

I wonder if Jared Swopshire is really transferring despite still playing for Louisville in the tourny.

    Correct.

Swopshire was already told his scholarship would not be renewed at Louisville. So, yes, he's still on the team, but Rick Pitino told him next year he won't have a scholarship.

There have actually been rumblings about Swopshire walking on at Kentucky. We'll see...

Why couldn't Pitino wait until the end of the season for that? Wow.

    IMO....

The NCAA needs to do something about the transfers...

It's gotta be either you can transfer and play right away OR you HAVE to sit a year.
  • Azubuike24
It was announced before Senior Day when Pitino was asked about his Seniors. Although only Kyle Kuric and Chris Smith are Seniors, Pitino made a point to inform the media that he had asked Jared Swopshire to participate in Senior activities if he wanted. His reason was that Swopshire would not be returning and would pursue more playing time elsewhere.

Right now, Louisville is 2 over the limit of 13 scholarships for next year. Cuts had to be made regardless...Swopshire makes the most sense IMO, although from what I've read he is a leader and quality kid.

It HAS to be you have to sit a year...I really don't see how they can allow transfers to just play right away. Imagine how ridiculous it would become..

Brett Bielema has effectively navigated free agency the past two summers, landing quarterbacks Russel Wilson from NC State and Danny O'Brien from Maryland.

Donovan McNabb may be available, new Badger qb next season?

Transfer rules are there for students who want to continue playing despite having graduated. There are lots of good kids using this rule effectively hate to penalize them.
  • vball10set
    Bret Bielema's a dickhead...just sayin'

Correct. Otherwise, we'd have people switching teams like free agency every year.

And there are lots of shit heads who just weren't happy and used the "family reasons" and got to play.

Desmar Jackson, 6-5 guard transfers from Wyoming to Southern Illinois, will be eligible to play this coming year. Averaged 15 ppg and was named to collegeinsiders.com freshmen all American team. I was selfishly hoping he would transfer somewhere closer to home, big ten or mac or something, so I could watch more games
  • Azubuike24
I really wish Jackson would have gone elsewhere. He was a good player at Wyoming. However, SIU is awful and won't be much better next year...
  • sportswizuhrd
Jackson is eligible to play now because he already sat out a year. He announced that he was transferring to SIU last April.

I know. He just picked a crappy place to go. He could have found a better spot IMO...

Don't remember and can't find my mag but do you know how they were expected to fare going into this past season?

This one had 10th out of 10. They finished 9th, 5-13 in the MVC, 8-23 overall. They graduate their leading scorer and only player who scored over 10 PPG (13.3) in Seck.

Can Jackson transfer away from SIU and play this coming year since he sat out the 2011-12 season already? There's gotta be better programs that have him on the radar.
