A replay that SHOWS, there was NO contact, NOT even close, as was the case in at LEAST 4 of those calls, its not subjective!! His 3rd foul was irrelevent. His second, which was an absolute HORSESHIT call, could have cost OSU the game. Nuff said. Not going to change how I viewed the game. Time to move on!
On I think Sulinger's second foul, he had his hand on the guy's back while he was in the air. Not questionable. -

Got a video?Fly4Fun;1127254 wrote:The one where Sully was falling back, the defender clearly hit his arm. I didn't see it at first and thought he got bailed out. But on replay it shows the defender was all over his forearm.
I really dont believe that. -

I think that OSU got he worst of it, about a 60/40 ratio on the amount and severity.karen lotz;1127229 wrote:Refs were HORRIBLE and embarrassing both ways. To think it hurt osu more is homerish. -

Not off-hand. On replay I mean the one they showed last night plus my DVR when I went back just to see it again.SportsAndLady;1127262 wrote:Got a video?

SportsAndLadyJust didn't know if there was a video on youtube where that was in the highlights or something. I can do a little searching

One of the worst officiated games I have ever seen, but I think it was 50/50....but you may be right just because the calls literally kept Sully out of the game for most of the first half.Sonofanump;1127286 wrote:I think that OSU got he worst of it, about a 60/40 ratio on the amount and severity. -
killer_ewokGlad to see that a neutral fan (S&L) and an OSU fan (ytown) saw it the same way I did. If I say that I'm probably labeled a homer and it's sour grapes. LOL. Completely agree that the officials were bad overall but I thought Syracuse got the worst of it. Not sure what the outrage is about Sullinger's 2nd foul. His hand/finger did hit Waiters in the face. Saw it clearly on the replay. Maybe you don't think that's a foul.....but there was definitely contact there. And that charge on Triche where the secondary defender slid under him at the last second was bullshit. There were some phantom no touch fouls against Syracuse too. Waiters and Jardine picked up fouls where they didn't even touch the OSU player. And when Sully's first foul was a pretty blatant charge as he lowered his shoulder and rammed right into the defender.
I mean, it doesn't matter now, OSU won and was the better team. But, if it's still a topic of conversation on here and some of the winning team's fans are still complaining about it.....I might as well get in on the action. -

Do you know what I'm talking about on the one call against the Cuse, when Sullinger made a move to the middle of the lane, fell back on his own, and the Cuse defender swatted the ball and was called for the foul?killer_ewok;1127311 wrote:Glad to see that a neutral fan (S&L) and an OSU fan (ytown) saw it the same way I did. I hate to keep harping on that call, but it really changed the game, imo. The Orange were making a run, and they called that, then a touch reach in foul on Sullinger right after that. I said to myself, "damn, tough to sustain a comeback with calls like that" -

My only issue with his foul here was that he got hammered before he dropped his shoulder and it wasn't called lol.killer_ewok;1127311 wrote: And when Sully's first foul was a pretty blatant charge as he lowered his shoulder and rammed right into the defender.

Yeah, I do. Agree with that. Like I said, it was bad both ways and that's not even debatable. However, I think there were a few more that went against Syracuse. I was watching the game with two non-Syracuse fans and they were saying the same thing. Jay Bilas tweeted about the poor officiating but specifically how horrible the charge called on Triche was. Raftery and Lundquist were pretty surprised by that call too.SportsAndLady;1127317 wrote:Do you know what I'm talking about on the one call against the Cuse, when Sullinger made a move to the middle of the lane, fell back on his own, and the Cuse defender swatted the ball and was called for the foul?

That game had the potential to be epic....and the refs fucked it up. -

Yeah, lots of missed calls and made up calls both ways. Just a damn shame that happens.ytownfootball;1127319 wrote:My only issue with his foul here was that he got hammered before he dropped his shoulder and it wasn't called lol. -

When will the NCAA learn that the game is too quick now, too many good fast players...you can't have a bunch of old white dudes refereeing them.killer_ewok;1127321 wrote:Yeah, I do. Agree with that. Seriously though....you're 100% right. -
ytownfootballI expect a few blown calls per game but not so much in the Elite 8 and not WAY more than a few. Sucked ass all the way around.

Very true..I had OSU picked in my bracket which I'm first place in and can win a bunch of money...I'm definitely not a neutral fan.centralbucksfan;1127330 wrote:Stopped reading at this point. -

Yeah! They should have games without officials, no need for them.SportsAndLady;1127327 wrote:So annoying how refs ruin games. -

Easy mr ref.Sonofanump;1127345 wrote:Yeah! They should have games without officials, no need for them.
I'm not saying they all do horrible jobs, or that every game is impacted by them.
Just annoying when they do ruin games. -
KR1245The refs sucked, no doubt about it.
Sometimes you need to make adjustments based on how the refs are calling the game. Neither team got the benefit of the doubt, both teams had awful calls go against them. OSU didnt win this game because of the refs and Cuse didnt lose it because of the refs. Ohio State won this game because they were the better team -

You're correct, you can't...and you can't have a bunch old old black guys either (see Hightower, Valentine). From what I've seen, there's a pretty good mixture of young and old out there, it's just that sometimes you get a crew that sucks-regardless of their age.SportsAndLady;1127327 wrote:When will the NCAA learn that the game is too quick now, too many good fast players...you can't have a bunch of old white dudes refereeing them.

DeyDurkie5centralbucks is insane.

It starts around 1:31:50. It has the real time play then a couple of replays. I was wrong about hitting his forearm. But it appears Keita had his arms straight up but then lowered them (specifically his right arm) into Jared's right elbow area.SportsAndLady;1127262 wrote:Got a video?
I really dont believe that.
If Keita stayed straight up there wouldn't have been a foul, he definitely bailed Jared out by lowering his arms.
