OSU vs MSU

centralbucksfanLets get it started! Biggest game of the year in the toughest conference. A win would give OSU a nice 2 game cushion heading down a very difficult stretch of games. OSU is riding a 39 game home winning streak. Game is 6pm Sat evening.
I agree with what Painter said in his post game conference after Purdue game. The key to this game, could be how its called by the officials.
I am going with OSU by 7pts. 70-63 -
vball10setI think OSU will come out motivated, focused, and agressive defensively... I hope we don't get Valentine and/or Hightower, but odds are we'll get one or the other, or God forbid, both.
OSU 72
MSU 59 -
MulvaMichigan State has lost 3 straight on the road. I think this will be a relatively easy win. OSU by 8-12.

sleeperOSU by 12.

That would be what worried me. MSU is due for a road win and OSU could be due for a home loss.Mulva;1081172 wrote:Michigan State has lost 3 straight on the road. I think this will be a relatively easy win. OSU by 8-12.
I'll never underestimate Sparty, but I do think OSU wins by 7+ -

Yeah, I mean Duke is 2-2 in the ACC @ home this seasonccrunner609;1081514 wrote:After Duke?UNC last night and Kansas flat rollling on Baylor.....Home teams need to stay awake. -
mallymal614Tom Izzo is a heck of a Coach. His resume speaks volume of that. But for some reason, whenever the talent level is even between the Buckeyes and Spartans, Ohio State tends to come away with the victory, even in East Lansing. I'm guessing because Izzo teams don't do too much when it comes to X's and O's. He is good for teaching his kids on how to play the right way and try to out muscle opponents. It's easy to do that against less caliber teams, but against athletic ones, sometimes they struggle.

wildcats20IMO, this won't be close.
I think Sparty is (as Chuck would say) a nice team, but they are a step, maybe 2, below OSU. ESPECIALLY with this being at VCA. -
Tiger2003Any update on Sully?
-
robj55When's the last time we have lost to MSU, seems like we have owned them a bit lately?
-
wildcats2008-09.
But the last 2 years they only played once. -

I could have sworn we beat them twice one year, once in the regular season and once in the Big Ten Tourney.wildcats20;1081755 wrote:08-09.

wildcats20Ahhhhhh had to look again.
08/09, they played 3 times. Sparty won both regular season games and the Bucks won in the B10 Tourny. -
Y-Town SteelhoundIzzo's squad typically doesn't turn it on til March. The worst thing that could've happened for them was OSU/Purdue being close. I don't think OSU will come out as flat this time and the Schott should be rockin'

Can't verify officially. But heard he was ok and will be 100% for the game.Tiger2003;1081703 wrote:Any update on Sully? -
se-alumI have a sickening feeling that the officials will make this a game like the one at Indiana. No flow, and all the good players in foul trouble. This may just come down to which bench can produce.

Izzo is known to run as many if not more sets then almost any team in the nation(they usually mention it a few times per game). And is a pretty damn good X's and O's coach. Dunno where you picked that up at ?mallymal614;1081633 wrote:Tom Izzo is a heck of a Coach. His resume speaks volume of that. Should be a good game though, top 2 teams in the conference and top 2 players gunning for POTY in the B1G -

Agree. YOu don't have the success that Izzo has without getting your team to execute on both ends of the floor. As usual when playing MSU, rebounding is going to play a big part of this game.Hb31187;1082459 wrote:Izzo is known to run as many if not more sets then almost any team in the nation(they usually mention it a few times per game). athlete37OSU should roll. Rarely do they have back to back poor performances

I don't mind "no flow" if the officials are calling fouls when Sully gets grabbed around the neck from behind and thrown to the floor.se-alum;1082369 wrote:I have a sickening feeling that the officials will make this a game like the one at Indiana. Exactly. The problem is Matta rarely likes to use his bench which put OSU at a disadvantage.se-alum;1082369 wrote:I have a sickening feeling that the officials will make this a game like the one at Indiana. holdingoutThought this game was a 9pm, but it starts at 6pm correct?

Sure hope it is a 6 pm tip off becuase if it is not, I need to find something to do for a few hours... Have my tickets in hand, lower level, ready to GO!holdingout;1082828 wrote:Thought this game was a 9pm, but it starts at 6pm correct? -

Yep, 6pm. -

WTF are you talking about? lol Tues against Purdue, Matta used his bench more than I even thought he should have. He kept Ravenal and Thompson on the floor until about the 2 min mark, Sully and Craft on bench. Hell, I was yelling for him to get them back in! Guess you haven't seen or paid attention this year huh?believer;1082827 wrote:Exactly. The problem is Matta rarely likes to use his bench which put OSU at a disadvantage.
