SportsAndLadyI'll take Cuse's resume's over Uk's..but I also think UK vs Cuse is about as close as it gets when comparing resume's. So you can't go wrong either way.
Cuse are 7-1 vs RPI top 50, 6-0 RPI 51-100, and 10-0 RPI 100+
UK are 6-1 vs RPI top 50, 4-0 RPI 51-100, and 11-0 RPI 100+ -
Tiger2003Hey both teams lost to a team from Indiana and both lost in the state of Indiana. To close to call. But I'll take the Cuse on a coin flip for the #1 overall.

If UK were to get the 1, then I would bet the 'Cuse gets the "Dook draw" to the final four then...Azubuike24;1092633 wrote:In general, yes. However, the UK brand and resume will separate them from conference affiliation. Same as it would for Duke, UNC or Kansas.
However, we are all assuming that teams win out. Everyone this year has been vulnerable and honestly anyone in the top 40 can win a given game, or around that many teams.
Fun discussion, though. -

I agree with that. Cuse is winning, but not doing it very impressively. 6 of their past 9 games were single digit wins (or a loss), and one of the double-digit wins was 10 points over Rutgers in a game that was close down to the wire.Laley23;1092595 wrote:Id think UK would be #1 overall. They lost on the road in the (to date) toughest environment of the year...and it took a buzzer beater 3 to do it.
They are blowing people out of the water this year.
They're beating good teams for sure, but you'd like to see them do it by more than 1, 2, 3 points. Especially at home.
Bubble winners tonight:
K-State: now a lock
Virginia: close to a lock. 1 more win should do it (Florida State, UNC, @ Maryland so not a total guarantee)
Seton Hall: Huge win, looking good. Just don't lose out.
Creighton: Survive in OT, just by avoiding the bad loss they're probably a lock now if they weren't before.
Losers:
Illinois: They're done. Can't finish .500 in conference play. Need to win the B1G tournament.
Northwestern: Determined to keep the streak alive. No bad losses, but only 6-9 in conference now. Only 1 good win, and about 3 average wins. Big trouble.
Xavier: Just too many losses. Need to win @ St. Louis.
Miami: May have been out before tonight. No question now. A ton of work to do.
NC State: No meat to the resume. Also in big trouble.
Mississippi State: 4 straight losses. @ Alabama next. A must win. Probably need to win out in the regular season or go 2-1 and make a good run in the SEC tourney.
Colorado State with a huge opportunity. Up 1 on New Mexico right now with 6 minutes left.
Bad overall night for the bubble. The teams that were probably safe got safer, and the teams that desperately needed wins all lost, with the exception of Seton Hall. -
Azubuike24Good post. Tonight cleared A LOT of things up. Still 10 days left of league play (at least for most power leagues) but clearly winners and losers tonight for sure.
-
Tiger2003Azubuike don't be mad. I do think your Wildcats finally break through and cut down the nets in New Orleans.
-
Azubuike24I'm not mad. It's a discussion forum.
Bubble games tomorrow...
Purdue vs Nebraska
South Florida at Syracuse
George Mason at Northeastern
Drexel vs James Madison
West Virginia at Notre Dame
VCU at UNC Wilmington
Memphis vs East Carolina
LSU vs Georgia
Minnesota vs Michigan State
Iowa State vs Texas Tech
Wyoming at San Diego State
Nothing greatly intriguing, but some teams absolutely can't slip up, and others can possibly really feel better by just notching a W. -
MulvaColorado State gets the win. New Mexico and San Diego State are 2 solid wins. But OOC the 2 best wins were Colorado and Denver. They're still shaky at best. 2 more chances to add a 3rd signature win.
-
Terry_TateAzu, can you just put together something that shows the teams that seem like safe bets, probably conference championship winners, and the true bubble teams so we can have an idea of where things stand? I don't follow close enough to know the teams that seem like "locks" from the teams that are still on the bubble. All of this is just based on your opinion obviously, just want to see how many bubble spots seem to be up for grabs. Thanks for anything you or anyone else can put together!

killer_ewokAzubuike24;1092593 wrote:Nice comeback. If UK wins out, they are no doubt the #1 overall seed. Their wins (and losses) would be better than Syracuse.
I actually agree with UK getting the #1 overall if both win out, but how is UK's loss better? Both were on the road, ND is currently ranked higher than Indiana and Fab Melo was out for that game (his 1st game out). It's not a huge deal either way but I'm not seeing how UK has the better loss.
Also, I agree with rec that Syracuse will not win out so it will be a moot point anyways. They will falter before the NCAA tourney. And frankly, I'll be okay with whatever as long as they still get a #1 seed. I'm going to enjoy this because it was only a few years ago that the Orange went to back-to-back NIT's. Things aren't always this good. LOL -
Azubuike24Notre Dame got crushed by Indiana. That's good enough for me bro

killer_ewokAzubuike24;1092701 wrote:Notre Dame got crushed by Indiana. That's good enough for me bro
Fair enough. However, Notre Dame has been on a tear lately and Syracuse played them during it while missing a key player (Fab). Also, not the same Irish team that was getting ran earlier in the season. -
Azubuike24Kinda tired but here goes:
America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Horizon, Ivy, MAC, MEAC, NEC, Patriot, Southern, Southland, SWAC, Summit, WAC (15 bids - 1-bid leagues no matter who wins the conference tourney)
Big West (Long Beach State), MAAC (Iona), Ohio Valley (Murray State), Sun Belt (Middle Tennessee) (4 bids - possible 2-bid leagues if the listed team doesn't win the conference tourney)
LOCKS NO MATTER WHAT (33 bids)
North Carolina
Duke
Florida State
Virginia
Temple
St. Louis
Syracuse
Marquette
Georgetown
Notre Dame
Louisville
Michigan State
Ohio State
Michigan
Wisconsin
Indiana
Missouri
Kansas
Baylor
Kansas State
Southern Mississippi
Wichita State
Creighton
New Mexico
UNLV
San Diego State
California
Kentucky
Florida
Vanderbilt
St. Mary's
Gonzaga
BYU
STILL WORK TO DO WITH VARYING DEGREES (17-20 bids depending on what conference tournament upsets happen)
West Virginia
Cincinnati
South Florida
Seton Hall
Connecticut
Purdue
Iowa State
Texas
VCU, Drexel, George Mason (in that order of strength IMO)
Memphis
Colorado State
Washington
Arizona
Oregon
Colorado
Alabama
Mississippi State
Xavier
Miami
N.C. State
EXTREME LONG SHOTS BUT WORTH LISTING
Northwestern
Minnesota
Wyoming
LSU
Loyola Marymount
St. Joseph's
UCF
I have 19 listed in the bubble teams, and a minimum of 17 of those 19 will get in. It's very possible if the 4 swing mid-majors don't get upset, we have some teams from the "extreme" category sniffing a bid or even some other teams not even listed who go on a run. This also assume there are no HUGE upsets in other bigger conference tournaments... -
MulvaTo your bubble list I'd add Miami, NC State, Xavier, St. Joseph's, UCF. I'd also say the Ivy has a chance to be a 2-bid league, but Harvard will probably just win the bid outright.
I also don't think BYU or Southern Miss are locks. -
Azubuike24Edited. I dismissed NCSU after last night, but looking again, they got a shot. Miami and Xavier I just forgot. Nice to have a running tab going either way, thanks.

Laley23Lol. From the Fake Cody Zeller Twitter.

Its Lori, their mother, as a big head. Tyler went 8/8 from the line.

killer_ewokSyracuse down 18-7 to USF midway thru the 1st half. Orange O looks like shit and South Florida's take the air out of the ball offense is killing 'em.
-
killer_ewokUSF didn't score the last 8:52 of the 1st half. 24-20 Syracuse at the half.
-
Laley23One of the first times Ive seen WVU play. Do they have anyone other than Jones and Bryant on their team? They are not very good at all. No shooters and no inside game other than kind of Kevin Jones.
-
karen lotzKilici and his damn hook shots are usually money. Shoots them like 12 feet out. He hasn't had a good game tonight. Cooley is too good.

They have the most top 100 wins of any school this year 9 to go along with 9 losses.Laley23;1093164 wrote:One of the first times Ive seen WVU play. Top 100 as in RPI top 100?gerb131;1093169 wrote:They have the most top 100 wins of any school this year 9 to go along with 9 losses.
that's not true, KU has 10 wins, Kentucky 11, I'm sure there are other schools w/ more as well. -
Laley23
Sure about that?gerb131;1093169 wrote:They have the most top 100 wins of any school this year 9 to go along with 9 losses.
9 seems awfully low for this time of the year. -
Azubuike24Oral Roberts, 45
Akron, 62
Kansas State, 39
Miami, 49
Missouri State, 95
Georgetown, 15
Marshall, 52
Cincinnati, 81
Pittsburgh, 94
That's 9. BUT. Lets be honest. Oral Roberts and Akron (albeit favorites) have to win their conference tournaments. Pittsburgh, Marshall and Missouri State need to pull upsets and win their conference tournaments. Cincinnati and Miami are VERY on-the-bubble right now.
Kansas State and Georgetown are legit, but their resume is hardly that strong.
